Title: Don't Panic (A Post-Apocalyptic, Semi-Literate RP)
Post by: Light on December 26, 2008, 07:42:04 PM
The moonlit sky is abundant with stars as you travel across the land. You've passed by trees, sand, rocks, mountains, deserts, and even volcanos. You have also seen beasts of unspeakable horrors and terror, some of which you were forced to fight and sometimes kill. You are tired, your only wish being that you can return home again. That is what has kept you going this entire time.

A few years ago, a great disaster called "Armageddon" took the world by surprise, killing thousands and stranding hundreds. Armageddon consisted of meteor showers, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados, and the like. The few who survived were separated from family members, not knowing if they had survived or not.

You're ready to pass out. You're ready to give up, and let nature take its course on your body. Do you give up, or do you continue?

--

This RP takes place on the fictional continent of Olmora. Though it was united at a time, Armageddon has separated it into four sections; a large center and three surrounding islands. The residents are all humans, and are more than likely separated from family members, friends, etc. Your goal is to survive, find out what Armageddon is, and reunite yourselves with those who you were close to.

Layout (a crude sketching of what the continent looks like): (http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa164/Lightning_Sword/Olmora.jpg)

Olmora: The continent on which the RP takes place.
Traceasa: The largest piece of land Olmora is made up of; it is in the middle.
Klik: The smallest of the three surrounding islands. It is located southeast of Traceasa.
Almeria: One of the three surrounding islands. It is located to the north of Traceasa.
Monoria: The largest of the three surrounding islands. It is located southwest of Traceasa.

Rules:

1 ) No Godmodding.

2 ) OOC conversations must be designated by OOC// or (()) while the RP is going on.

3 ) There is a maximum of two characters per person.

4 ) Shops and places to live in are few and far between, so keep this in mind.

5 ) A few boats have survived Armageddon, so you may use them to travel from island to island, or to Traceasa.

6 ) With this being a semi-lit RP, make sure you form complete sentences, spell correctly, and post in paragraph format.

7 ) Keep violence and romance to a PG-13 maximum. No need for excessive blood and gore here.

8 ) Don't try too hard to have the RP go your way. If it's flowing towards a certain objective, don't continuously try to have it revolve around your character.

9 ) You must have your character approved by me before you can start RPing.

10 ) Have fun!

((Let's begin, then.))

Harver stood on the coast of the island of Monoria. He let the waves gently wash over his boot covered feet. The pages of the book in his hands rustled slightly as a midnight wind gently washed over the shore. The young man's eyes were fixated on the larger island a few miles away. "Are you there, mother... father?" He asked seemingly to himself, unaware that no one was near him. He turned and saw a couple of boats a few hundred yards away. He began to walk in that direction, curious of the existence of them.

The boats were each about the size of a couple of two story houses combined, so they could fit quite a bit of people. He turned, and saw no one in sight. Deciding it would be best to leave the current island he was on (he had been traveling for days, and had not seen his parents), he shoved off and did his best to pilot the ship to Traceasa. Seeing as the current was taking him directly to the island, he had no need to steer, and sat down, opening up his book, entitled, "The Laws of Physics, and Other Rules to Live By". The book he held was his life, and what he grew up with.

((By the way, the currents in this story are much like the Whirl Channel from DMDTS, except, depending on where you depart from, they will either lead to Traceasa or the island nearest to you.))

Are sign-ups still open?

Name: Gregg Casey
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Appearance: He wears a torn red shirt and blue jeans. He has an odd, almost yellow face with dark brown hair. Armageddon left him with three fingers on either hand.
Weapon: Gregg Casey has a small automatic pistol from his younger days, and carries a walking stick around for stability and self-defense in close combat.
Biography: Mr. Casey does not remember much about his past. He knows he had a wife and two beautiful children before Armageddon, but he remembers close to nothing about his childhood.
Starting Point: Klik
Other notes: Mr. Casey doesn't, so to say, "look before he leaps".

((DMDTS... it inspires everything we do. xD))

"Hmmgh..." Brown eyes open as the moonlight shines down on the figure below it. Said figure, Jas, pulls herself to a sitting position, then stands, only to be faced with a harsh wind. She moves her arm in front of her face, and turns away from the gust, but her eyes water anyways. Single teardrops roll down her face, streaking through and clearing some of the ash and dirt that covered her cheeks. When it finally stops, she picks up her twin blades, and places them on her back. Yes, she was tired, but it wasn't best to stay in the cave she napped in. If a tide came in, she would drown because she definitely does not have the energy to swim. So she sets off, searching for higher ground.

((Indeed, it does. Byte, you're accepted.))

Harver set down his book, marking his place midway through Chapter 6, "The Laws of Gravity and Force", as he saw the mainland of Traceasa approach. He looked up, and judging by the position of the moon, there was still another good four hours until the sun would rise. He sighed, and began searching for a working "port" that he could dock at.

After about half an hour, Jas finds herself standing on top of a grassy hill, looking over the ocean. She sits down, and watches the moon reflected in the water, rippling because of the waves. Eventually, she pulls off her jacket, and lays down on it, using the article of clothing as a pillow. Her gaze is directed in the direction of the waters until her vision blurs, and fades to nothing.

Gregg wakes up on a sandy beach. It appears to be almost midday on this strange island. He's been walking around for days trying to find something, anything. He's assumed it's deserted, but he hasn't walked inland quite yet. He needs to conserve energy as much as possible.

"I need to get out of this place." Gregg says to himself. He looks out into the ocean. Nothing for miles. It seems endless. Could this be the only land left on Earth?
"I need a darned book..."

Suddenly, Gregg hears something off in the distance. He looks over. "Is that... Holy poop! A boat! Hey! HEEEEEEY! OVER HERE!" It's amazing. He's seen a boat! The boat could take him inland (if there is any inland) and maybe he'll see his family again! Maybe... maybe...

Harver docked the boat near where Jas was lying, though he did not know she was there. He decided it would be best if he got some sleep before searching for his parents, and decided to sleep while waiting for the sun to rise.

I'm going to try really hard not to ruin this RP like I did the last two I participated in on this site, feel free to kick me out when I start to mess things up X_X

Name: (real name unknown) Tav Xero
Gender: Male
Age: He thinks he's about 14
Appearance:  Longish dark hair, colored strangely that it almost looks like a deep blue shade.  Dark, emotionless eyes and a small, thin mouth.  He has an athletic build of someone who knows hard work, but hasn't lived it constantly to the fullest.  He has a long, thin scar running down his torso at an angle.  He wears a dirty, ripped cloak and simple, everyday clothes underneath.
Weapon: Hand-and-a-half sword.
Biography: He woke up alone with a sword at this side and a bruise on his head.  He couldn't remember anything but the feeling that someone was looking for him and the instinct of a swordsman.  He awoke to a new world, one destroyed and horror-ridden.  Remembering nothing, he made a name to call himself and decided that he would live to defend the innocent, because he couldn't remember anything else to live for.  He turned around, and headed off into the night.
Starting Point: Monoria

((nvm LS. -_-; Oh, and samurai sword = katana = Japanese...? >.>))

Jas' eyes snap open. She doesn't know if it's just paranoia, or if her senses are telling her right, but the sound of wood creaking and clunking against more wood and rock reaches her ears. "What the hell was that?" The girl doesn't move from her spot, but instead lays low, right hand reaching back for one of her swords. For all she knew, it could be another beast she'd have to fight off. She starts inching forwards on the ground, for the source of the noise.

((Alright, let's start! :) ))

Shu sits on one of the beaches on the island properly known as Traceasa. He looks down at the can of tuna that he had just ate. A sigh escapes his mouth.

"Well, there goes the provisions."

Taking out his hand-gun, he decides he should go hunting. But for what? Fish, deer, one of those... things?

I wonder how that would taste. he thought, quickly dismissing it from his mind as he figured it wouldn't be very good.

"I guess I'm having deer." he sighs, as he walks into the forest behind him, "I hope I can find one."

((Amidoingitright?)

((Yeah, pretty much. Though it is odd how your character talks to himself. XP))

Harver tossed and turned on the ship, trying to get himself into a comfortable position, but to no avail. He sighed and opened the book he had previously been reading, using the moonlight as a light to read the small print.

After walking for a little while along the edge of the forest, Shu spots a Grassy hill. Still kinda dark, he sees nothing special about this hill.

That is, until he gets closer.

Shu sees a black figure resting atop the hill.

It could be one of those things Shu thought, hoping he wasn't true. But something kept nagging at him. The figure, at least from here, is about my size. Maybe, just maybe...

Shu hasn't seen another human, alive that is, since Armageddon. Seeing another (Possible) human, made him antsy.

Maybe it's just a small one of those... things, though. Then... that would suck. But if it's a human...

Course of action: hide and wait. If the creature was indeed... a creature, then he can simply run away, or kill it for food... maybe. And if it was human... then yayz.

Lying in a nearby thicket, Shu decides to just sit around and wait.

((Plot twist lol))

Jas lets herself roll silently, cat-like down the hill she was on to get closer to the noise that disturbed her. As she crept closer, she could see a shadowy figure swirling against a rock, making her more anxious to find out what it is. A shudder rolls down her spine as she hears wood groan and creak under weight. Pressing herself against another rock wall, and looking around it, she could make out the shape of a boat, that would explain the shadow, but what was in it is a different question.

'Lure it out maybe...?' She tosses a  rock up and down, then throws it over her shoulder like a grenade, so it'll land in the said boat.

Harver heard a slight whizzing sound, which made him stop reading momentarily. As he set his book down, a small object with much weight collided with his head. "Ow!" He exclaimed, wincing from the sharp bit of pain. He looked down at the object that hit him. It was nothing more than a rock. He realized that the rock had a red liquid on it, and upon touching his right ear, he found that it was bleeding. Better hope there's a First Aid kit on this ship... Harver thought, going into the main cabins of the ship, looking for said kit.

((xD))

Jas jumps slightly as she hears the other person holler shortly after she throws the rock. 'Shit, don't tell me there are intelligent versions of those demon things!' She quickly shakes her head. 'No, Jas. Stop being stupid. I can't let all this get to me,' After inhaling quietly, she proceeds forward, but doesn't let herself be seen. Carefully, soundlessly, she goes. Jas was so close to her goal, until something above her creaks, then goes tumbling and crashing into the ground, startling the girl, and causing her to jump back.

"Damnit!" She hisses. There was no way she could hide now. Preferring to stand and fight, Jas gets into a fighting stance, waiting for what may approach.

((Oh, lol. My mom was hogging the computer))

Shu wakes up to find that the figure he was spying on (The one he SHOULD have been watching instead of falling asleep >:( ) was, indeed, gone.

"I wonder where it went?" he asked himself.

Suddenly, a loud WHAK followed by a holler reached his ears.

Guessing that it was the thing he was spying on... he decided to take a look.

His search led him to a ship. A ship he thought I can use this to, maybe leave the island!

In a moment of spontenuity, Shu decided to check out the ship, and maybe find the scorce of the holler. Drawing his gun, he enters the ship.

Harver quickly bandaged up his right ear after applying some antibiotics, wanting to give his "wound" at least a couple of days to heal. He heard a crash outside, grabbing his attention. Not bothering with the sword on his belt, he stepped outside into the crisp night air. He saw a couple of figures that he could not decpiher, as they appeared as mere silhouettes to him. He decided it would be best if he tried to reason with them, and determine whether or not they were humans, or dangerous for that matter. "Hello?" He called out. "May I help you?"

Jas starts to walk closer to the new voice, but she still was in a defensive stance. "Yeah, come out with your hands up where I can see them!" She says, firmly, but calmly. She still doesn't know whether or not she should trust the male voice speaking to her, and doesn't want to end up sorry for being too trusting. Jas steps over the fallen branch, and gets closer to the moonlit clearing of sand.

Harver stepped forward into the moonlight so that he could see where the female voice was coming from, and so that she could do the same. He raised his hands so that they were level with his head. "I don't intend any harm." He said. He looked at the young woman before him, and couldn't help but think he'd seen her before.

Shu comes walking out of the ship.

"Yep, I can make that ship worthy."

And that's when he noticed the figures. But there were two of them. Where'd this extra one come from.

At this point, it didn't matter much. Slowly creeping back into the ship, as to not be noticed, he intended to eavsdrop, REALLY REALLY hoping they didn't notice him and his odd quote to himself.

((Reincarnations!!!))

Jas pauses for a few moments, looking Harver over. She lowers her twin blades, pretty sure that she's safe for the most part, for now. "So there are other people still alive," she sighs and sheathes her left weapon. "Still doesn't explain why everything just... exploded," she trails off realizing that an explosion is one of the few things she can remember.

((Oh, sorry, lol :D))

Shu, while eavsdropping, SOMEHOW seemed to gather quite a different kind of information.

"Oh man, they HAVE to be monsters! Just by hearing what they said: Other people still alive must mean they smell other people! OH MAN! And everything looking dead, must mean they've overeaten everything on the island and almost NOTHING IS LEFT, and"

Oh, yeah, gotta be silent. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah. And some of those people they overate must have fought back, maybe with grenades... and thay don't know what a grenade is... which explains the explosion the female one was talking about. Speaking of talking, they obviously know how to... which means... THEY'RE INTELLEGENT! OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP!

I think I should get off this island, but I don't want to go anywhere! THEY MIGHT SENCE ME!

Suddenly getting an idea, Shu decides to hide in one of the nearby Pickle Barrels, just until the monsters have gone.

Jas stands there, listening intently in the direction that she thought she heard something. When she doesn't hear anything else, she shakes her head. "Nah, I think I'm hearing things this time. Besides, we're both tired as hell. If there is something bad over there, and we mess up, things will just get worse. It's probably better to just keep watch, ya know?"

"True," Harver said in reply. "Although, I must say it is a shame that everytime I fall asleep I can't help but thinking those... monsters out there could kill me at any second." He yawned, not quite realizing how long he had gone without sleep. "If we don't find out what's behind these strange creatures, we might never go back to the way we were before all this."

"Well, there's two of us," Jas starts, sheathing the other sword in her hand. "We could take shifts, looking out for suspicious things. It seems better than sitting up, barking at the shadows... more restful too," she says, watching Harver's movements. "Yeah, I think resting's the better option. You're so tired that I can see it in your eyes."

Finally, the boat arrived on the island. Gregg rushed up on as soon as the boat let it's stairs down, and ran around the boat, looking for someone, anyone he knew.

But to no avail. Gregg was heartbroken. Are they... dead? Gregg thought to himself. He went and found a room, not looking for any information on where the boat was going, and simply slept. He was exhausted.

Josh was laying, waiting for some form of animal to pass by the scope of his sniper. He hadn't eaten in days, and was desperate to eat anything. Although he was traveling towards the coast for a few days, he was still a couple miles inland. He figured that once he got to the coast, fish were easy pickings. Until then though, he had to find food, water and shelter. Josh was laying there for a while, but nothing came. The moon had passed its peak for a while now, and if Josh didn't rest soon, he'd have no energy to travel the next day.

How are the monster type things involved?

Josh was walking through the dense forest, trying to find a place to rest. He came across a small cave on the side of a hill. He was about to go in it, when he looked down. Not high enough... he thought to himself. His best chance of survival was to get to high ground. He continued walking higher. Unable to find a suitable location to rest, Josh decided to clear some grass and just lay down there. He made sure the area around him was secure enough that no one could sneak up on him, and then tried to fall asleep. Terrible thoughts filled Josh's mind as he lay there, motionless. Shu was COMPLETELY oblivious to everything that was going on outside of his pickle container. Overwhelmed by the stench, shu decided to hop out and see if those 'monsters' were gone yet.

Great! he though, slowly climbing out of the Barrel. I smell like food. A LOT of food. They'll notice me a mile away!

Slowly, and quietly, he heads out of the ship, listening closly to any odd sounds, just in case those things might be prowling around somewhere.

Lets hope they don't like pickles.

Harver nodded. "I understand. I wouldn't want to hop onto a ship without knowing what could be on it, either." Whoops. He instantly thought, remembering how he didn't do that with the one he was currently on. The thought was erased from his mind, however, when the scent of pickles hit his nose. "...Do you smell that?"

"Oh?" Jas sniffs around a bit. "So I wasn't just smelling things?" Her nose wrinkles a bit. "Yeah, smells like pickles... those nasty sweet pickles." She sighs a bit. Of all the things they would possible have to survive on, it had to be that. 'Oh well, it could be worse. At least it ain't chiterlings.' "I'm guessing we'll go look for it? Or do we wait for it to come to us?"

Shu pokes his head out of the side of the ship.

Oh man, they're still there! And by the sound of it, they smell me! Oh man! How am I going to conceal myself smelling like pickles?

Thinking quickly, Shu pokes around for something to conceal his odor. But to no avail.

Um, what do I do now?

Quickly, Shu flung himself into the first box or barrel he could find. Incedently, it was a crate of flour.

((This is getting interesting! :) ))

((Why do I sense ANOTHER budding romance between this Harver and Jas?))

David walked through the forest silently. He was growing very, very bored. The forest always seemed the same everywhere one went. Trees. More trees. The occasional bear or squirrel or something. Then more trees. He hated this island. But he was stuck here until he could find a boat. The whole place reminded him somewhat of a book he read when he was younger. Something about kids getting stuck on an island and a fat guy run over by a boulder.

Soon enough, he made it out of the forest. He heard talking somewhere nearby. And something smelled too. Further sniffing led him to deduce that someone (or something) nearby smelled strangely like a combination of pickles and flours. He raised an eyebrow and continued walking warily. He saw several ships nearby. Why they were there was beyond him, but that didn't really matter. Looking around more, he noticed two people, one female and one male, talking.

There are still people on this island? he wondered silently. Weird.

He decided to walk up to them, hoping that they might be able to help him.

"Hi," he said.

Oh, crap, this box doesn't have an escape plan either! Drawing his gun (Which was hard to do in such a cramped space) Shu aims the gun upward.

'A click?' Jas looks at the group of barrels, one of which Shu would be in. 'A gun click? A bomb maybe?' "Yeah, I heard it." She walks over to them and smirks, slowly drawing her blades, thinking, 'I hate to waste food, but...' before suddenly dropping down to the ground, and sweep kicking the containers. They go tumbling to the floor, spilling the contents of them everywhere. Jas goes rolling behind another wall.

Shu jumps out of the now broken crate, in a fury.

"DIE MONSTERS DIE!"

*Click* the gun does not go off.

Staring at his gun in bewilderment, like it was his last hope (Which it pretty much was), Shu slowly looks up at the monsters about to eat him...

WAIT A MINUITE! THEY AREN'T MONSTERS!

"WHAT? YOU'RE HUMANS? I DID ALL THAT HIDING FOR NOTHING?"

Takes less time to cook too." She wouldn't really try to pull a Sweeny Todd and eat the boy, but this was too much fun, with all the recent disasters.

Shu looks around the room.

"Well, looking at it, we seem to have WAY more than that."

Going to a corner of the room, Shu pick up a box. "See, this box is filled with rice! And there's more! And these barrels are filled with water. There's PLENTY of stuff here. No meat, but enough to last us to the next island!"

It's only happened in every other RP I've been in X_X  I didn't realize I was alone on this island XD
One more question, is there any way to keep track of time during this RP, like will we ever be sure of what time of day it is?

The sleepier that Jas gets, the dizzier she becomes. And dizzy she was. She yawns and lets her head lower to the left before snapping it back up again... and letting it fall to the right. ((Holy crap this is growing too fast ;-; ))

Gregg wakes up on the boat. He must have passed out right when he got on. He was having a wonderful dream about a Pre-Armageddon sitcom he used to watch, something with a guy named Jerry, he thinks.

Gregg decides to take a stroll around the boat again. Might as well, he thought. "You don't want your muscles collapsing on themselves, Mr. Casey." he says to himself. He always liked to refer to himself as "Mr. Casey" for some reason. Before Armageddon, he had a really nice fedora that he'd wear almost anywhere. Gregg realized that he really hadn't done anything on the boat when he got to his room, so he decides to take a look around. Within the room is a bed, a small closet, and a bedside table with a drawer in it. He opens the drawer first.

"A pencil and paper? What could this be?" The paper had something written on it.

I can't take this anymore. I have no one left. This is pure hell. I'm taking my own life only because it's the right thing to do.

I love you, Gregg.

Hope.

This is impossible. It couldn't be. Hope? On this boat? The boat that rescued me? She took her own life because of my absence? Gregg burst into tears for the first time in years. He hadn't cried since his father died.

After that little fit, Gregg still needed to do some scavenging. He folded the note up and put it in his pocket, along with the pencil. He went to the small closet, and opened it, and was quite surprised to see the contents of the closet.

- One White Fedora
- One White Tuxedo
- One Gas Mask
- One Pair of Dress Shoes
- A small pistol with an extra clip of ammo.

"Christ, it's my lucky day! A new outfit and a new weapon!" He changed his clothes, and put the gas mask on. Damn, did he feel classy.

He walked out onto the boat, and attempted to find the captain. According to the captain, if he could be called that, they were almost to the mainland, where there should be food and shelter. Hopefully.

((Wow, I wrote a lot there.))

((Also, I'm going to feel weird if I meet up with the other characters. I'm 35 and they're all 14-19 DX))

"Why'd you wake me up instead of them?" he asked, somewhat annoyed. Regardless, he got up anyway.

((Well, you see, the suit is just that amazing.))

Gregg was standing at the front of the boat, looking for the land that they were going to land on. From the other survivors, who, for some odd reason, all happened to be adolescents, he had learned that island that they were traveling to was known as "Traceasa". According to his thoughts, "It must be the hip new lingo these days..." One of the nicer survivors gave Gregg a book when he was walking around the boat. It was War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, one of Gregg's favorites.

Anyway, Gregg was looking out, etc. He could have swore he saw a tiny patch of sand earlier, but that turned out to be nothing. Eventually, the mainland became clearer and clearer. Traceasa looked beautiful, but who knows what it'd be like once they arrive?

((For simplicity's sake, is everyone near the shore?))

Jas winces and coughs a little in her sleep. She sits up, opening her eyes a bit, and just stares at the others. Without any words whatsoever, she lays back down and goes back into slumber... that is if she was even awake in the first place.

Jas isn't exactly the best person to awaken when stricken with sleep deprivation. She quickly sits up, now growling a bit, and holding a good sized rock. "What the hell man!?" She throws the rock at David. "Lemme alone!" The girl lays back down, probably not caring or realizing what she did.

((Oh, poop, it's night D: ))

Gregg wakes up in the middle of the night, he realizes he fell asleep on the deck of the boat. Whoops.
However, the good news is that the shore is about 10 minutes away. Everyone wakes up almost as soon as the boat hits the shore, and rushes off onto the island. Gregg was basically trampled before he could get off.

Gregg was extremely tired still. It was probably around 3 in the morning, and he passed out right when he hit land from exhaustion. He thought he saw a different group of teens before he fell, but he can't remember.

((It's up to you guys who I'm going to be with D: ))

... What.. Happened..?
He saw a torn landscape, littered with ruin and destruction around him.  Looking out over the ocean, he thought he could see a bigger landmass to the northeast of him.
Maybe there are people on the mainland!  But how am I to get there...
At least now I know where I need to go...

Tav looked down the mountain he climbed.
"Wow...  That's high..."

Name: Blank.
Gender: Male
Age: ???
Appearance: Apparently fairly young, with dark blonde hair, blue eyes, and a face full of scruff. Clothes are torn and he himself looks worn out.
Weapon: Dull knife and hammer made from stone, and a net made from vines.
Biography: Blank was once a great guy, fairly wealthy, and loved by the people of his village. After the Armageddon, he woke up on a small uncharted island. He had no memory of anything, but could tell from smoke and fire in the distance that something had gone horribly wrong. He couldn't remember his name, and since there was no one around to talk to, he referred to himself as Blank. What seemed like forever passed, and he grew tired of being alone. He built a raft out of materials from the island, and decided to head toward the mayhem that was inland. That was months ago, he's been drifting since. It seems like the shore never gets any closer. His only possession is a pendant with a picture of a young brunette woman.
Starting Point: Between Klik and Traceasa in the waters of Olmora.

((Since I likely won't be TOO active, I made my character disconnected from the rest of the cast. When he eventually interacts, I'm probably gonna rely on you all to help build his story. I'll leave key points and you guys can fill in the holes, as if you're trying to help Blank learn his past. Does this sound good?

Edit: Also, didn't read the characters to know there was another amnesiac, but whatever. :P))

Harver broke from his reading to see what Jas was talking about, but quickly realized she was simply talking in her sleep. He sighed. They all look so peaceful... how can they be so relaxed when we could be killed at any moment?

"Yeah, I'll go out with," Jas starts shifting around more, no longer seeming so peaceful. At that moment, she could've sworn that something exploded, but it's all in her mind. "Gaah!" She whips into a sitting position as if something burned her, quickly covering her mouth and breathing through her nose, thinking that everyone's probably asleep. Jas moves her hands to her now aching head. 'I know someone probably heard that, but I don't care... What the hell was I dreaming about?'

Like Jas, Shu was talking in his sleep too. Actually, it was more singing.

"Put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up"

Suddenly hearing a "Gaah" noise, Shu wakes up.

"What the? What was that?" Shu says groggily ((SP?)), slowly sitting up.

"Jas, was that you?"

"Y-yeah," Jas starts to open her eyes, but shuts them again, and covers her face, finding that having them open just makes her head hurt worse. "It was... I'm fine, just go back to sleep," she says quickly, maybe a bit too quickly. All this time Jas has depended on no one, and she is too stubborn to start doing so now.

Josh took off his shoe, and used the laces to tie it to the stick. It'll have to do... Josh thought to himself. Josh stepped into the boat, casually looking around for any extra provisions. "So, which way should we go? Judging by the vegetation, we're probably near the equator, so if we head North or South, it's probably going to get colder. If we head East or West, it'll probably stay the same temperature. But, I'll leave it up to you. Your instinct seems well enough."

Blank woke up and coughed; he was choking on sand. He opened his eyes to see he was on a shore. His raft was in the water, floating away. Though he knew he should probably swim after it, his surroundings intrigued him, and he felt he should explore a bit. He looked around him to find that only his knife was still with him. He picked it up, looked back at his raft, then headed forward. He had no clue where he was going, but he felt compelled.

((Blank is currently at the southernmost tip of Traceasa.))

Harver sighed. "Well, now that everyone's awake, we should divide up who will explore which parts of the island. I think we should divide into pairs. We could travel along the coastline first to see if there are any survivors; I think it might be a bit too soon to go into the mainland. Also, we can retrace our footsteps along the sand to find our way back here. Sound good?"

Blank traveled west, determining his position based on the direction the sun was moving. He was getting hungry, but it didn't seem like there were any animals around to hunt. Suddenly, something moved in the bush next to him. Slowly, he moved toward it, with his knife ready. He pushed the branches to the side to see a small nest of bluebirds; a mother and three babies. He didn't have the heart to kill them. Besides, it probably wouldn't have been too filling. To his left was another bush. He noticed it was covered in berries. He didn't know what they were or if they were safe, but he was starving, so he stuffed his face. "Hmm, tastes like raspberry, but has an extra zing..." He put as many in his pockets and he could and continued onward.

OoC// NOO, Don't Leave me D:  I've been busy recently >_>

Tav woke up.

He had no idea how long he was out, but it felt like a while.  He stood up and brushed himself off.
I've got to stop being so depressed over this and DO something about it Tav though to himself.

He leaned back and looked across the ocean, scanning for anything.
If I remember right, there is a bigger land mass to the northeast of here.
As he was looking out across the sea, he saw a distant little dot.  At first he thought his mind was playing tricks on him.  The he thought that it could be the other island, but so far away.  But then he noticed that it was moving.

Is that... A boat?
"HEEEEEYYYYY!!!   YOOUU OUTT THERE!   HEEELLLLPPP!!!"

There not going to here me.....     No, stop thinkig like that, and stop being lazy! Tav was arguing with himself in his head.

"HELLLPPPP!!"

"No... Don't leave..."

Blank continued west. He had a burning sensation in the back of his throat, but brushed it off. "I need something to wash these down." The area was muddy, and he knew if there was mud, there must be water. After a bit of searching, he found a small pond. He cupped his hands and took a drink. He was finally hungry enough to harm an animal, and he noticed a fish swimming around the pond. Without hesitation, he dropped his knife into the water, feeling that he hit his target. "Sorry buddy, but them's the breaks. I'm hungry."

He ate his lunch.

Solon stood up, slower this time. He felt dizzy, but tried his best to ignore it so he could walk. There was a crunching sound behind him, but his senses were too dead to spin around. Instead he clumsily half-turned towards the noise. But by the time he got fully around to face what he thought he had heard, nothing was there. Though he thought he saw a shadow slink back into the darkness. Solon gulped. "Okaaaaaaay, I'm going now... Before the scary monsters that don't exist and are hopefully just a wild image of my imagination eat me..." he muttered, talking mostly to calm his nerves. With sloppy, loud steps he began walking towards the lighter side of the forest, hoping it would take him out. He still had a hand on his bloody head, and was growing less capable by the minute.

He was eager to see if there were any more humans; if there were more of them, they would have a better chance of fighting off whatever was in that forest. The only downside would be that they could be easily heard, but if they split up into small groups, they wouldn't ALL be killed...

Solon continued stumbling through the forest. He probably shouldn't have been so loud in case a monster might hear him, but he wasn't thinking clearly at all. In fact, he couldn't remember anything about himself. And now he was starting to even question his surroundings. "When was I last in a forest?" he wondered out loud. "Wait a second... Who am I? Oh man... Did I drink last night or did I seriously drink last night, then get mugged?" Glancing at himself and his old, torn clothes, he figured the ladder. He quickened his pace, wanting to leave the forest as soon as possible so he could get some treatment, and get some answers.

Solon continued walking, closer now to the end of the forest. Finally... God, I don't think I ever want to see another tree again after this, he thought. Then he heard a noise that made him stop. A few more feet and he'd be out... But the noises intrigued him. First he thought he heard talking... Human voices? But they were faint. And mixed with those voices was the sound of... snorting? Like... a pig? Oh man, Solon thought, shaking his beaten head. Since when could pigs talk? He looked back and forth between the end of the forest, and the intriguing assumption that he might have just stumbled on a talking hog. "I could be rich!" Solon suddenly exclaimed, thinking it over. He made a turn, heading horizontal to the exit, looking for the sound of the "talking" pig, forgetting completely about his head injury.

Blank woke up in a daze and felt his head. There was a huge lump, and it hurt to touch. He stood up and looked down. His eyes widened. If he had fallen a foot to the left, he would have hit a sharp, pointed rock. "Woah." He had lost his sense of direction, so he headed in a random direction. His chosen path lead him to the South shore of the island. A chill ran down his spine as he thought of the time he spent on the other island, and he felt as if he'd stay alone forever. His stomach growled, and he noticed a coconut tree to his left. It was fairly tall, so he had to climb it. He carefully climbed toward the top, and stretched his arm out for his lunch... but lost his grip as he touched the coconut. Fortunately, the sand softened his fall. "Ow. Thank heaven for sa..." he stopped his sentence as the coconut he touched landed on his head, knocking him out yet again.

Solon hid behind the tree where he could visualize his prey. The tail he had seen for only a second soon disappeared when he had blinked. All I need to do is swing around this tree with my dagger, stab the beast, and bring it home for dinner, Solon thought, his initial idea of using the pig for commercialism now dead. "And then I can go home and celebrate a Thanksgiving dinner with my family," he began saying, not realizing it was out loud. He was becoming delirious now, the head injury getting more severe as it had gone untreated for so long.

"PIGGY!" Solon squealed, swinging around to the other side of the tree and clashing into someone, who was clearly not a pig at all.

Solon stood up and blinked at the guy in front of him. He was still clutching his dagger in one hand. But suddenly, he couldn't remember the use for it. 'What the hell do you think you're doing?'... What the hell do I think I'm doing? Solon was trying to think. He couldn't verify his past actions.

In the jump he had banged his head again, causing his injury to be more profound. "Doc..." he finally said, "I think we've got a problem." Then, he collapsed at Harver's feet.

Wow, it's getting thick. It's pretty dark in here.

"Hey David, you have light for when it gets darker, right? 'Cause I sure don't."

With the urgancy of battle, Shu's left eye turned white, just like it has many times before. Then, his nose started to bleed and his mouth started to foam, also like it had done before.

Shu didn't care, he wanted that beast dead.

WHOOSH! The big arm of the monster sent Shu sprawling, right into David.

David fell backwards as Shu slammed into him.

"Ow," he muttered, getting back up, rather winded. The monster was still standing. Crap. David reached for his sword, which had been knocked away from the impact. He picked up and held it in a defensive position.

Shu got up quickly. Pushing David aside, he yelled angrly. "OUT OF MY WAY!"

Charging at the monster, Shu swung as hard as he could. However, the log broke in half, rendering it useless.

Again, shu didn't care, as he lunged himself onto the monster's torso.

The Monster tried very hard to shake Shu off, trying to batter him with his massive hands and everything. But no matter what, Shu would not give up, still slowly climbing up the monsters torso. Eventually, he reached the neck area of the monster.

"YOU DIE NOW!" Shu said in a rage. Sinking his teeth deep into the juggular of the monster, Shu ripped a big piece of the monster's throat. However, seeing that the monster was not dead yet, Shu was not satisfied. Climbing over the monster's head, he wielded the sharper half of his now broken club, and stabbed repeatedly at the monster's head.

Shu laughed hystarically. The monster was now obviously dizzy, partly because of his massivly bleeding throat, partly because Shu was now penetrating the thing's brain.

Finally, the huge beast fell. Shu was flung from the beast, but got back up immediatly, only to start stabbing it some more. After a while, Shu was now satisfied, knowing that the beast was WELL dead.

"I WIN! I ALWAYS WIN!" he screamed, and then collapsed into a heap.

Shu, even through his unconciousness, could feel every bit of his body hurt. His arm was obviously broken; it was twisted the wrong way. The back of his head was bleeding from the numerous hits the monster made whilehe was attached to his torso. His back hurt from the same thing. And worst of all, his sternem ((SP?)) hurt from the thing charging at him. As well, he was bleeding in many various spots, and he lost a tooth.

And yet, none of this seemed to wake him, completely tuckered out from his ferocious battle.

Shu suddenly woke up with a start.

"WAAAAA! MONSTER!"

Flipping over, out of David's arms, Shu fell to the ground.

Looking around in amazment, he was wondering why the monster that was charging him had suddenly dissappeared.

"Wha? What happened?" Looking around, Shu eventually spotted the obviously dead monster lying there.

"Woah? Did you do that David?" It's obvious that he didn't remember the event that had just taken place.

"That's some serious butt kicking!"

Trying to get up, it was apparent that Shu was injured... EVERYWHERE. Ploping back down, he asked, "Man, what exactly happened? I remember something big charging me, and then nothing. And now my everything hurts. What happened?"

(( Well,  I think the monster did sort of have a plan. It did raise questions as to what's up with Shujinco's character. If nothing else, it helped build his character and and show there is some strong energy within him, that seems to only present itself during the thrill of the kill. So at least it had a plan, although it was lacking a description or a set controller.

As for the godmodding thing. At least he recognized how much damage he took in return while killing the beast. He may have defeated it, but he pretty much destroyed himself in the process. Josh aimed his sniper once again, frantically trying to attach his scope. Snap. It clicked into place. He aimed it at the beast's head, and fired. Direct hit. Josh lowered his sniper, thinking he had slain the beast, when he saw it continuing in it's path. The bullet did crap. "...Shit." Josh mumbled to himself.

Solon followed her, taking in his surroundings. "So, what exactly are we looking for?" he called out, feeling stupid for having so many questions. "More people to eat," the girl says nonchalantly, waving her hand around to make it seem like such a thing was ordinary. She's sure that Harver would be annoyed with her for bringing the cannibalism joke back up, and that Solon would want to avoid her from this point on, but man the tension and mood is killing her. "Maybe a rat or two for roasting as well, but mainly more people."

"O-Oh," Solon stuttered. "So... This is what we do now? I mean, there isn't any more food left on this world? We've got to... eat each other? Er, so, uh, does this mean you're going to eat me? Because, you don't have to! You know, I could, become one of you. I'll eat a human, I can be a cannibal! For all we know, I was one before this. And, I bet I taste really bad, too. Oh, and you know what else is perfect? I have really sharp teeth! Yeah, that'll help me bite through the tough skin! And that means we could call me Hannibal Lector! But, if you're going to eat me, could you please give me a heads up?" Solon continued rambling on and on, scared, confused, and completely oblivious. His amnesia was leaving him with almost no people skills at all.

By the time Solon gets to that last question, Jas is mentally rolling around and laughing. "Well, some of us have to be kept alive for reproduction purposes... But don't count on it, delicious-looking one. That's why we all sleep with one eye open around here." A twig snaps, cracking through the eerily quiet day. "Watch you back," she looks back, grinning hungrily.

Solon turned white. "Reproductive purposes..." He followed, cautiously, once in a while glancing at Harver. "Um, so, can I be kept for that?" He wasn't sure he wanted to be here. Were these people for real? Then again, Solon reasoned, it'd be much easier to be part of the cannibals, then hiding in fear, not knowing where they'd strike next.

"Of course," Jas continues to make her way out of the forest. She lets the silence of the pause take over for a few moments. "But you still won't be guaranteed the promise of living the next day, hour, minute, second. Whenever we need to eat, we eat. Whoever happens to be the most vulnerable... well it sucks to be them."

Solon couldn't help but worry. But he was sleep-deprived, had amnesia, and just found out the world was destroyed - or something like that - he could have been easily set off. But now, he didn't feel like he'd be able to get any sleep when he was walking with a girl claiming to be a cannibal.

"It's the middle of the night, you can't be hungry now," Solon argued. "Maybe, we should just, uh, sleep. Didn't you say there was some ship? Can't we just go back there, sleep, and, uh, figure all this out in the morning? I don't know how many more surprises I can handle..."

Jas takes a couple of steps, but then stops and falls to the forest floor, now in a fit of laughter. "Hahaha! Oh wow, I-I'm sorry. I had to see if you would believe that one," she gasps between giggles. "Ev- haha! Everyone was just so awkward... hehehehe... and tense and tight-assed," Jas starts to pull herself back up to her feet. "I just HAD to. Really though," her composure is regained as her laughing slowly dies down.

"We came out here to explore, see what or who else we can find. Obviously you're out here with us, lost. Now we're just seeing what else we can find."

"Didn't anyone ever teach you not to mess with a person who has amnesia?" Solon asked, but he was grinning now, too. "But, if I had to choose one time to get amnesia, maybe now is the best. If what you guys are saying is true about the whole thing with the middle of a world crisis, or whatever is going on..." He had a question about that ordeal. No, that was an understatement. He had a million questions. He still wasn't sure what was going on. All he knew is he woke up without a memory, and apparently without a family or home to go back to. "Wow, more then me in DMDTS? I don't believe that's possible. A day or two? Wow, I must have been in a coma," Solon replied, scratching the back of his head as he thought. He frowned, a sadder thought entering his mind. "If everything has been wiped out... It sounds like there won't be much for me to use to strike my memory..." He thought about starting completely over, in case that happened, and began wondering more about himself. "I wonder how old I am, and what my real name was, and if I was in a relation-" But then he stopped. That word reminded him of something... Was I dating someone before this? Name: Haruko

Gender: Male

Age: 23

Appearance: He has brown, disheavaled hair that he never bothered to comb ever since the apocalypse. His eyes are a light shade of blue and he has a large scar going accross his face. He has only worn a white T-shirt, which is now a sort of grey-brown, and some pants that are about as short as regular shorts due to them being ripped.
Weapon: Uses a sword or an axe depending on his mood

Personality: He normally is a very optimistic guy and will generally try to avoid fighting unless it would be out of self-deffence or friendly sparring. He uses a normal sword when fighting like this However, ever since the apocalypse, he has obtained a split personality, practically his opposite. He even refers to his other personality as his "second self." He is always irritated in this state of mind and gets angry quite easily. He uses a large battle axe to fight when he is his "second self."

Biography: He lived a normal life and was fairly nice to just about everyone he met. When he became a teenager, he began taking lessons in sword fighting. Most of his family was killed when the apocalypse occurred. The only one who could have survived was his younger brother. Haruko then went through a brief period where he went mad for a month. He did eventually come back to his senses and now wanders the land searching for his younger brother.

Starting Point:Traceasa

"Put the... lime in... the... coconut and... drink it all up."

Even through his unconciousness, he could still feel the pain, although not as much of it. He could still feel his arm (which had snapped in half), his ribs (Probably bruised, but could also be broken), and his head, among other things.
