Title: Platinum Comes
Post by: Macawmoses on December 18, 2008, 12:26:28 AM
March 22 is release of Platinum. About time, and right after my birthday.

With that said, I expect huge sales for it. I imagine Nintendo will really push the DS in the beginning of Q2 - as Platinum is a heavy hitter. Couple that with FE and Personal Trainer titles, and it really shows.

But here is the million dollar question: How well will Platinum sell?

I fully expect it to be one of the best selling Pokemon titles to date. Looking at it makes me drool. It looks like a brand new installment in every way, it has appeal, and a broad market. I can't see it not selling well.

The best news is this, though. It's not a DSi exclusive in NA, like some of us thought. Yay.

Discuss Platinum and its release date.

I can't wait, it will be huge. I will probably have to pre-order it, Best Buy and even Circuit City sold out the first day of D/P.

I'd still rather have a 2nd generation remake.

I'll only preorder it if they have some special preorder item

I'll probably get it, even though my mom will be like "Pokemon? Seriously? :|"

I'm not getting it.  It looks waaaaaay better than Diamond or Pearl, but I've played Diamond so much that I'm sick of the current gen.  I'm not buying any more Pokemon games until the next gen or if they make a good enough console game (or maybe if they do a 2nd gen remake).

i was afraid of my mom or dad making fun of me so when my mom took me to gamestop I got Pearl with some starfox game and when I got in the car and asked which game I got I showed her the starfox game. to this day they still don't know I have the game. I might get Platinum. Maybe. Pearl was so fun and addicting.

You go that far to hide the fact you like Pokemon games? 0_o

I went with my mom and brother when I got Pearl and didn't give a poop :P

yay, my b-day's 12 days after that.
I'll probably enjoy it more than Diamond because my favorites so far are:

Yellow
Crystal
Emerald (see a pattern?)

Shiny Silver and Glittering Gold

I can see it now.

Lol but I do agree, I would LOVE a remake of those, considering they were my favorite games of the series.

You were afraid your mon and dad would make fun of you if you got the game? ROLF. My dad would have thought it was a "baby game" and never would have let me buy it if he was still around. My mom on the other hand loves Pokemon and would let me buy it as long as she was able to see the following Pokemon...

Squirtle
Pikachu
Psyduck
Slowpoke
Slowbro
Mew
Pichu
Marill
Slowking
Wobbuffet
Chimecho
Jirachi
Piplup
Bidoof
Bibarel
Pachirisu
Mime Jr.
Shaymin (Land Forme)

God.  I want that game sooooooo bad.

Then, once I get my 8 badges, all of my party from Diamond will switch over, and extreme level raising will ensue.

I'm just mad off at this: (http://www.nsfcd.com/forums/index.php?topic=28742.0)

QuoteYes, I know there's My Pokemon Ranch, which completely lacks the entire purpose I used Pokemon Box for. It gave me really easy mass transfer of Pokemon between any of my games and also provided a universal storage (Ranch only allows depositor to reclaim the Pokemon that one DS game deposited).

It's not like I can even use Pokésav to make a new save for Platinum, as if I decide to play it, there's a 99% chance I'm buying it, especially for the registration code and my Diamond is a hard copy too.

I'll probably buy it eventually, but probably not this year.  I imagine that it'll sell a ton of copy, close, but not more than what Diamond and Pearl sold.

If I'm not mistaken, the re-releases, like Yellow, sell better than the first two.

I don't plan to get it. Doesn't really interest me.

Now that I think about it, the only "3rd game" I've ever bought was Yellow.
