"The legend is that there once was a wealthy man named Winfred Von Karma. He was rich beyond belief but never spend it on anything except for his precious, gigantic mansion. He was greedy beyond comparison. He'd make Ebeneezer Scrooge seem like a giving kind of guy. The only act of kindness he committed was that he let the rest of his family stay there. However, he hardly ever talked to them and if he did, he treated them as if they were peasants to him. He lived a long and lonely life despite living long enough for his kids to have grandchildren who also stayed in the mansion. The day he died, he said 'I may be dying but I tell you, my family, this. My hoard of treasure is to never be touched!' With that final, Scrooge statement his life left his body. The family, of course, didn't obey him. 'He was mean to us even though we were his own family. Why should we listen to him?' They said. 'He's dead now, he won't mind if we take all the money and treasure.' All the precious gems and jewels, all his cash, all his golds and silvers were all in one room, Winfred's room. So the family decided to go in there and from that day forth, they were never seen again. It is said that this mansion is now haunted by the Von Karma family, thus the hill got its name of the Von Karma Hill." Said a young boy in his early teens.
"And the mansion has remained undisturbed for 700 years with all that treasure inside it! I say we should go and snatch that treasure! I'm not going to believe some stupid ghost story." Said another who was slightly older than the other boy.
"Are you crazy!? If the legends are true, then we may DIE if we go in there." Said the younger one.
"Ah quit being such a baby, Thomas. We'll get some friends to come with us. We'll be fine!" Said the older one already running off to find some other people.
"Mike! Wait! Don't leave me here alone!" Said Thomas running after Mike.

" Are you kidding!? Isn't it haunted?"
"I bet it was just some stupid story that was made up." Mike said. "Also, I bet that fortune that Von Karma guy had is still in there somewhere!"
" Maybe. But, if I come, I need to bring a few things. We might be there for awhile."
"That's a good idea. That mansion sure is big. It could take a while to find that treasure."
" Ok," Lance replied," meet you there at 8:00."
He ran home.
Okay, so that's one more person...I wonder where Thomas is. I must have lost him...oh well, I'll find him later. Mike continued walking around the neighborhood.

Nathan was passing the hill and noticed some people going up. He raised an eyebrow and watched them for a minute before starting to follow them up.
Thomas decided to head back to the hill figuring that David must have already gotten there. Once he was able to see the hill, he saw a group with David and another boy following behind them. "Looks like they've dicided to go...But should I go?" Thomas, being more cowardly than David wasn't quite sure whether to go or not. "Well...Um...If David's there...then I suppose I'll be okay." He decided to go after them.
"I wonder if the door will open if I knock on it :P " Dave said as he reached the top.
"Yeah, right." David said laughing.
"Well let's try it anyway." *Dave knocks on door with large door knocker*
The door did nothing but then after a few seconds, it started creaking open in the way in which one would think a door of a haunted mansion would open.
..."Wow, I wasn't expecting it to actuaully work. Well it was most likely open and just creaked open due to the knocker. Let's go in."
"Yeah...I suppose 500 years really takes a toll on a door." David said walking in.
"This place really is old." Dave said as he walked in. "Just look at the old style furniture and that old piano."

Kimeko drove up and parked outside of Von Karma Hill.
She stepped out of the car, making sure to lock it. She pulled out her camcorder and turned it on. She pointed it towards herself and began speaking "Paranormal Investigator, Kimeko Dodgers here. This is my official investigation into the Von Karma rumors. Legend has it the house is haunted by the spirits of the Von Karma Family, driven by greed to keep their wealth from others. Hopefully this will yield more success than my last investigation which turned out to be some old guy running a counterfeiting scheme and using the myths to keep people from going near the old saw mill." Kimeko shut off the camcorder and put it back in her bag.
She sprinted up the hill with a smile on her face. She noticed the front door was already open and she took out her stun baton and flashlight. She listened carefully and could hear something from inside. She grinned widely thinking to herself 'This seems promising!' before stepping into the house. She checked all around the room with her flashlight looking for the source of the voices.

((The Mansion is, for the most part, mirrored. In other words if there's a bedroom two doors down to the left, there is a bedroom down two doors to the right. Some things do slightly differ and the stairs are always at the end of the hallways.))
David glanced back thinking he heard some female voice but just shrugged it off. "Well...I suppose it will be bright enough." He said as he continued down the hallway searching for the stairs.

Thomas saw the woman run into the house with a stun baton. "Uh oh...Is she going to do something to David and the others?" Without thinking it over too much, Thomas went running after her trying to catch up with her.

Kimeko approached the room where David and the others where located. She burst in with the flashlight and stun baton at the ready. She demanded "What do you think you're doing in here?". It was only after she jumped into the room that she realized they outnumbered her considerably.
David swung the gun over towards Kimeko. "I think we should be asking you that with your...baton...thingy!" David said.
Thomas just then made it into the mansion out of breath. "Hey...what do you...think you're...doing in here?" He said taking deep breaths inbetween pauses.
Nathan entered the mansion and thought he heard someone talking. He disregarded it as just his imagination and looked around the mansion's entrance.
"Well, this is boring," he muttered to himself. He decided to head down to the basement, hoping that something interesting might be hidden down there.
Kimeko tried to size up the situation. She spoke as confidently as she could "Yeah um well I'm Paranormal Investigator Kimeko Dodgers. Daughter of Police Captain Doug Dodgers. And I've had previous run ins with criminals while investigating ghosts. This baton is my means of defense against unbecoming men. Now maybe you could tell me why you're all here?"

IC// Xavier walks outside from a side door ((assuming there is a side door<_<)) and goes into the backyard where he always hangs out, looking for some stuff he's left there before. He picks up his backpack from it's previous hiding place and rummages through it.
Alright, I have two small knives, a small flashlight, some granola bars and a water bottle... And oddly, a belt.
Xavier puts on the belt and straps the knives on both sides of his waist.
They're all armed in there- with guns. If I get into any trouble I should at least have these with me.
Is there really ghosts here, I've never been inside until today but I alwasy wander the grounds and there never was any sign of the place bein haunted. I've heard the rumors, but c'mon, ghosts? And some almost fabled treasure hidden somwhere, what could it be? A room full of gold? The deed to the mansion? Is there even a treasure?
I don't need any of those, but it sure would be fun to find them!
Xavier then put the food and water back into his backpack, close it, then slings it over his shoulder. He then started to approach the house from the back.
"Well Kimeko, you might be in luck. I think there might be paranormal activity in this house after all." Said Dave. "If you don't believe me, then why is there a light on in the next room or maybe I am just imagining it?"
"Wait...I think I see it too." David said. "It's at the end of the hallway and it looks like...STAIRS!" He bolted off toward the stairs. "I bet this leads to the basement! Treasure, here I come!"
Thomas let out a sigh. "David...so quick to act." He turned the other way noticing that one of the side doors was open. Strange, that wasn't open before. He snuck out the door alone to see what it was.
Xavier walked towards the back door when he noticed a boarded-up section of wall near the ground to the side of the ddor.
A Cellar? An old storm shelter? ...Interesting...
Xavier turned away from the door and approached it.
Thomas approached Xavier. "Hey...Um, what are you doing out here? Everyone else is inside."
Dangit.
Xavier stiffened and looked up, his hand automatically reaching for his waist. But seeing that Thomas had no means of defending himself ((he doesn't, does he?)) he calmed down.
"Then why aren't you in there with them? I was never part of that group, I come here on my own quite often and don't need them."
"Well...I just wanted to know why you weren't with the rest." Thomas said. "...Did you say that you've been here before?"

"Maybe it's a wine cellar!" Josh thought to himself. "A broken wine bottle is just as good as a knife!" Josh thought since he was part of the minority of the unarmed.
Kimeko was frantically trying to balance her stuff in both hands. She held her flashlight and stun baton in one arm. She held out the camcorder "Do any of you guys want to hold this while we search the house? I need to record any activity we come across." She tried counting heads "I agree we should check the basement. Their well known as ghost hot spots."
Lance himself pulled out a Welrod and loaded it as he walked towards the basement.

"Yeah... These stairs don't seem very strong..." Josh remarked after hearing a squeak come from one. "But I guess they're fine for now... So, how much batteries do you think you have left?" Josh asked, trying to start some sort of conversation.

Kimeko was right behind David and the other guy, as they ventured down the stairs. She held the camcorder up so it could get shots as they descended the stairs. She began to dictate "I'm amazed this place has managed to stand for so many centuries! Perhaps a side effect of multiple spirits possessing the area? We venture into the deepest reaches of the house searching for clues of the what transpired here. Alongside me are fellow enthusiasts..uh...what are your names?"

With a puzzled look on her face she asked "Your name is Dave and his name is David? Weird." She could hear the sound of distant foot steps creaking throughout the house "Sheesh, was there an Invitation sent out into the mail or something? How many people are walking around this place?"
" About 10," Lance replied. " By the way, im Lance."

"It is called a memo." Dave said jokingly. "But yeah it is getting a bit crowded in this place.

OoC//Quick recap: Xavier, Nathan and Thomas are outside in the backyard of the mansion inspecting a boarded up section of house. I think everyone else is inside and going downstairs. And if it doesn't hold everyone I have an interesting plot twist to bring up...

Xavier tested the boards again, looking for a loose nail or a weaker board.
((Sorry for not being on in a while. DX Marching band sure is taking up my life this year.))
Thomas looked around and found an old shed. "Hey...I think this could be a tool shed." He took a look inside. "Maybe if we could find an axe or something in here."

David continued down the stairs with a creek with every step he took. "Let's be careful, these stairs could colapse any minute no-" Before he could finish his sentence, he stepped in a hole in one step causing him to fall down which made another, much larger, hole in the stairs which then made the entire staircase collapse kicking up a large cloud of dust.

IC// Xavier heard a loud crash from beyond the boards.
"What was that?"
Xavier ran to the shed, past Thomas.
"Have you seen anything yet?"
Xavier then saw an old, rusted axe in the corner.
"Let's hope this works."
Xavier ran to the boards with the axe.
Thomas followed after Xavier. ...Somehow...I get the feeling that David had a part in that...loud crash-like noise.
Swinging the once was good axe, Xavier chopped the weaken boards into two.
Well that was a whol lot easier than I though it would be.
"Hey, is anyone down there? What happened?"
"Ouch!" Dave exclaimed. "Is everyone alright?"
David got up. "I'm fine." He noticed a dim light shining through a hole high up in the wall. He heard Xavier up there. "The staircase colapsed."
Thomas went up to the broken boards. "David? Is that you?"
"Oh...Hi Thomas. When'd you get here...and who's that you're with?"

So the boarded-up hole, was well just a hole leading into the basement. There's not even any stairs down from the hole into the basement, must've been some kind of damage... Well that's kind of boring.
"Well now we are on ground level with the basement so we just go around the stairs."
Lance nodded in agreement. " Uh, I don't think 1 flashlight will lead us. You," he pointed to Dave and handed him a flashlight.
Fine then
"Well then, good luck getting out..." Xavier muttered to himself.
Xavier left the hole and walked up the steps to he back door of the house.

Kimeko was busy trying to get all the dust off of her from the stair case falling. She mumbled something about her favorite shirt. As she got up she tried to survey the area. She moved closer to David "Whoa this place is pretty vast for a basement. A little too vast actually. What do you suppose they used this space for?"

Kimeko began poking around the room looking for anything of interest.
"Do you suppose it's possible for a ghost to drink wine? I only ask because there's an open bottle on this table and half full glass next to it. And as spooky as that is, it still doesn't help explain what happened here? Where's the cryptic messages? Where are the desperate letters written by people who refused to run away even though they knew something terrible would happen if they didn't? Where's the ominous sounding wind telling us to leave?"
"It could be that guy who hangs out here. He was in the back yard back there. Also I think you are watching too many movies. If it even is haunted, it won't come out in the open like that."
"Yeah I suppose. It's just there supposed to be so many people here who disappeared! I thought it would be more.....active."
Josh walked over to a counter, and found some shot glasses. "I could throw these at something..." Josh thought to himself.
David walked around the room looking for anything that might lead to the treasure. "Hey...look at this pile of junk here." He was looking right at a pile of empty wine bottles and shot glasses. "Man, somebody in the Von Karma family must have been a MAJOR alcoholic." The pile was very big. It was taller than David. "Wait...I think I see some sort of door behind here." He started pulling out wine bottles and shot glasses from the pile.

Thomas was about to go follow Xavier to the door but turned back for a second and went back into the shed. He came out with some rope and threw it through the hole made in the wall tying the other end to a post of a fence near-by. "There. That should give them a way out.
Kimeko rushed to assist David. Reinvigorated with the possibility of finding something, she helped put the glasses out of their way.
The sound of the clinking glass echoed through the room.
Josh dashed over to help clear the bottles, when he had come across a broken one. At first he thought he cut himself, because that's what it felt like, but when he looked at his arm, it was fine. " I never hear of a dull wine bottle..." He thought to himself, continuing to help clear the bottles.
The pile started to diminish. "Wait...I see the top of a door. Keep clearing out the pile!" David said with even more vigor now.
David started to help. "?You know we could probably push the pile. I don't think glass is that heavy..."
Xavier looks back at Thomas, and shrugs and keeps walking up the steps.
He tries the door, and to his dismay finds it stuck.
"Well, there's one more annoyance to add to my list..."
"This seems to be put here on purpose. As if someone was trying to conceal the door." said Josh looking at a small stack of perfectly stacked bottles.
The pile had now diminished enugh for the door to be opened. David opened the door and looked in. It was a long hallways with no lights in there. "Hey, can someone pass me a flashlight?"
" Sure," Lance replied, handing David a flashlight.
"About time. Let's go." Dave said. You think the treasure could be in here?
" Probably not. We won't find it THAT soon."
"If it was so simply concealed the treasure would probably be long gone."
"That is true. Let's keepo moving."

" Yeah...Let's move on."
(Can't really continue without the Dr.)
Xavier steps away from the door and sighs.
Well I'll guess I'll just have to start over...
Xavier starts to walk back to the front of the house, then stops and looks back at THomas.
"Coming?"
Then he turns back around.
