Title: Boycott formspring?
Post by: 2-D on March 31, 2010, 08:34:47 PM
Now I came across a Facebook group asking people to boycott this website.

Formspring.com, if you don't know, is a site where people are supposed to ask you questions and you can do so anonymously. Needless to say there were some...a-holes?

There's a story of a girl, who was picked on via this site countless times. to the point where she took her own life.

Now people formed a group to ask people to boycott Formspring. The group is below.

For the life of me I can't join this group. What it's doing is blaming Formspring for this girl's suicide when all the site did was give teste-less d-bags an avenue to call her names without consequence.

My question is, should sites like Formspring and Facebook be blamed for the actions of others?

The girl is to be blamed. If she didn't like what everyone was saying she didn't need to be checker her formspring.

A way to filter out morons I guess.

I LOVE formspring.
I enjoy reading all the comments people make anonymously.

Anyway, it's certainly not formspring's fault that she took her own life.

The girl lived a few towns over from mine.  My cousin apparently knew her.  It's kind of sicking to see her pictures being posted on 4chan though (but as she was an hero, I had a feeling that it would come eventually).
