My sister who is saying it applies to all work places... though she's only had 1 job (and became manager, then got fired way later)

Nationwide, or just where you are? I know there was a day or two I had to take off within the first two months of working, and nobody said anything against it. There's always gonna be days that people need to take off, I mean, just because ya work doesn't mean you don't have a life. Strange policy if it is in fact true.
