Title: Realism in video games
Post by: on May 08, 2008, 12:51:57 PM
Do any of yall think that if any part of a video game is unrealistic then nothing else in that game can be realistic?

Well, if the physics engine is realistic, you obviously can't have a game like Super Mario Galaxy.

No. Look at Half-Life 2's story. The story is pretty unrealistic, but the physics engine is really lifelike.

To me, "Realism" in video games have two parts: A possible story and real like graphics/physics.

For instance, JGR. That story is POSSIBLE, so it has THAT amount of realism to it, but the graphics look cartoony (Which is AWESOME!), making that unreal.

If that makes any sence. :-\
