Title: Microsoft is shutting down Ensemble Studios

They're shutting down Ensemble Studios after they finish Halo Wars.

Ensemble Studios made the Age of Empires and Age of Mythology games if you didn't know.

According to wikipedia, the task of continuing the Age of Empires series will be/has been passed onto another microsoft group

Yeah I think it's one of the studios that some former ES employees made.
