My dad described this movie to me, and now I need to watch it:

There is this guy who is wondering the US. Eventually, he finds this Podunk town with extraordinarily nice people. He even makes a couple of friends. But the townsfolk find out that, he is actually there to commit suicide, and so everybody in town is betting on which day  he will do it.

Yeah, find this movie for me.

If you have any other info, like any actor that might be in it or the genre of the movie, that'd help the process.

And if you find it, tell me because now I want to know what it is.
I get obsessively manic over things. It's a problem.

I BELIEVE it's a comedy/ romantic comedy cross, but I'm not sure.

And I don't know any actors, sorry.
