Why are people afraid of heights?

I'm not afraid of heights....

Well I kind of am..like when i've gone hiking a few times..and you look down the cliff afterwards..it's pretty intercourse ing scary..

But other than that, i'm not afraid of heights.

The fear of heights is actually a fear of death, as are most fears. They are only afraid of heights because they think they might fall leading to their untimely demise. Almost every fear is based on a fear of death. Go figure why they pick heights.
