Title: Administrative shuffling.
Post by: Judas on January 04, 2008, 07:09:52 PM
We've made some new changes to the Admin/Mod roster tonight:

JMV has been removed from his Admin position. There are no hard feelings anywhere, but the unavoidable truth is that Mr. V was just not necessary. He's been given a Local Knight position on Power On. Silver, Vaati, and I may now be referred to as a triumvirate, also.  :robotveryhappy:

GameMaster1370 has been moved from Moderator to regular Knights of Hyrule. He put in a lot of great work, but with his decreased activity lately, there are people better suited for the position.

And finally, some good news. PsychoYoshi, our recently added mod, has replaced GameMaster1370 in the higher Moderator position. We feel he's quite able to handle the position.

I hope no one's too upset... we think this will work out much better, though.

With love,
Snorkel

I'm fine with the changes in staff. There were two other things I was looking forward to happening, but  it seems it isn't the time.

We've got PY now, we are fine. He was modded for a good reason, I'm sure he will do his job well.

Thank you for the support guys.

But to be honest with you
(when I realized this myself)

I don't Know as much as Snorkel, Silver, Vaatix, PY and even JMV when it comes to Forums.
(Snorkel you were right from the start in one aspect about you thinking I wouldn't be a good Mod, despite you being gratfule for me.)

I don't really have the Knack to know the backgrounds of a forums.

Because of that, I feel that me being a "KOH" is good enough, and more suited for me.
I'm sure Snorkel and Silver atleast can agree with that comment.

I love my job/position. I'm not "Qualified" to be anything other then what I am, but thats ok.

I feel closer to everybody here as what I am, then anything else... (seeing as that I'd be too busy with the forums maintenance and what not).

So, I'll be a KOH from now on.  :robothappy:

As far as everything else thats happened with the "Shuffle"...

I'm just going to "Dot, Dot, Dot" it.

Hey, guess what? The invites were sent out to all staff members that were on at the time of the meeting. You were not. In addition, the vote for your demotion was unanimous sans one staff member. I never asked to become a Moderator, the administrators decided to promote me.

Perhaps next time you should focus on a forum that's actually stable and has competent administration before you decide to branch out to NS2 for a power trip.

Relations between both Nsider2 and Nsiderforums have been thin, I only joined Nsider2 as staff to control that balance. :|

In fact, that relation may end up weakening again.  Because of you, I'm considering whether or not I should resign from my position.  I am astounded on how anybody can tolerate a person such as yourself....or are you actually friendly to those you don't despise?

Oh Shut Up both of you.
Gamemaster, you were moved up to Moderator originally because of your activity and your need of the rank. Your activity has been reduced because you have work elsewhere, and you're moderating on NS2 as well. Regardless of the reasons for being less active, you were, and that's why you were moved from Moderator to KoH. Not because Psycho decided "Hey, I hate him, let's not invite him to the staff chat and then I'll plot behind his back to demod him so I can take his place". Psycho didn't have a Plot. So either you think he hates you so much that all he wants is to demod you, or you're under the impression he had planned his ascension to moderator in advance. Neither of them are true. If Psycho had a personal grudge with you, why was it an almost unanimous decision? The rank change was made because we felt it was the right thing to do. Admittedly, Phantom was not brought up anywhere in that discussion, and that might have been a miss on our part, but it's a bit late for that now.

Quit throwing a temper tantrum. You are the aggressor in this argument, I'm telling you both to stop.

Would it really have made a difference if you were there or not? The vote was almost unanimous, and I doubt you could have said much to change that.

How does you stretching yourself over two forums, with one requiring much more time than the other, help the relations between the forums?

In case you haven't noticed, it's been weak for a while, and nothing has made it any stronger (not even you). So because you got demodded, you're whining about PY and threatening to resign to try and get it back? I really don't see how that's going to work. And I honestly think you should either resign from either NS2 or here, because you can't effectively be a mod on both.

Where are you getting that PY despises you? And we all love him.  :-*

Vaati for the knockout.

Holy poop people if you are going to whine, then create a free forum and MOD THE HELL OUT OF THAT. Some of us were never mods, so you had more then us. Though I like JMV just anyone else complaining. Though I think that only narrows it down to one person.

Can we have the real reason why all these people are being de-ranked?

Lack of activity, mostly. Except for JMV, there's a few reasons behind that.

Can we have the real reason why all these people are being de-ranked?

Neither Silver nor I, nor Vaatix, are believers in either large staff or unnecessary staff. I'm sorry that everyone's imagination like to turn a few rank changes into conspiracy theories and rampant plots, but all that happened was someone said in an Admin meeting once, "We have too much staff that doesn't do much". So we moved people around accordingly.

Like Vaatix said, GameMaster was moved up to Moderator originally because of his activity. He's been much less active as of late, which is fine, but his position was adjusted. He stepped down to regular member status completely of his own accord.

PsychoYoshi was promoted to fill his position, as he was doing a fine job as KoH and said he felt that he could handle more rank-changing issues, etc.

As for JMV, there were a couple reasons. One was that the large majority of administrative things had been happening between Silver, Vaatix, and I. We just felt like the extra Admin that didn't actually contribute much to the Administrative spectrum was not necessary. His demotion to LK instead of KoH was because the only boards he frequented enough to be useful as a mod were Power On and Serious Discussion. He was made LK of Power On, and then Serious Discussion instead because he felt that an LK on Power On is useless without banning powers. I might as well say that I offered him positions at both boards simultaneously, and he declined the second position.

I don't know why there's so much controversy and suggestion of animosity between everyone. I consider everyone promoted or demoted as valuable a user as anyone else, and the promotions/demotions were not a result of anything felt on a personal level.

Those are my honest thoughts on the matter. If there are additional reasons for anyone's promotion or demotion, I am not aware of them.

I implore everyone to please take the situation for what it is: a few people losing or gaining ranks on a forum. There's nothing more to it.

Well said Snorkel.

I just wish that there was more of an explanation, PRIOR to now, so the things that happened, did not.

Whatever. Things have now been said, and it is simply as you said

"A few people losing or gaining ranks on a forum"

To all asking why I am more inactive then GM, I was in Florida without a computer :D We cleared up the confusion just now, when I got home. Anyways, I'll be doing what I can to keep things kosher around the forum.

I just wish that there was more of an explanation, PRIOR to now, so the things that happened, did not.

I had no idea of the level of rampant and childish "rebellion" that would ensue. Had I known everyone was going to start calling the whole administration "corrupted" and start plotting against me I would have just left things how they were.

Well, no, I would have spaced the events out a bit more.

I mean, really, I can't get a grip on why this is important to begin with. Some of the people in question here are 18+ years old. And they're out for some convoluted sort of revenge? I don't get it. This is a Nintendo forum. There are better things to worry about.

Hell, if you want to go spouting s*** about corruption and whatever you think is wrong, get interested in politics. There's better venues for this than a Nintendo forum, especially when you're old enough to drive and vote and do whatever the hell you want.

Sometimes I feel like I should just give everyone Admin status and leave, if that's what everyone wants so badly. Maybe I should setup a goddarn senate of users so we can have us a little Nintendo forum democracy to make sure everyone's happy.

I hate to use this, but come on, we scrap together money for a server, we dedicate hours upon hours to doing everything imaginable for this forum, and you guys say the Administration is corrupt? If you think I don't have anything better to do, I do. I never have and never will make money from this, and it's becoming more of a chore than leisure activity. What's in this for me? Nothing. I do what I can to make people happy, and I like to see it reciprocate every now and then.

I am sorry you feel this way, and I, too, would expect some maturity, especially from those above 18.

The fact of the matter is, it did not happen. Which is WHY I made that point, not to get a democratic/political rant thrown at me (not that it was aimed at me, entirely, more so, everyone).

Yes, if I wanted corruption theories, I would be picketing outside the Alberta Legislature saying Ed Stelmach is corrupt, and his conservative ways will lead to the downfall of the oil sands, and the province.

But I am not after corruption. I am after a peaceful place, where I can discuss Nintendo, and relax after school/work.

And you and I both know, that democracies, on forums, just does not work. In fact, one could say democracies in general do not work. But, that is another story.

No, no one wants "everyone to have admin status" or you to leave. I feel the admins are competent, and things were blown out of proportion.

As the saying goes

"Shit happens"

Now, let us move on with our lives, and leave this behind?

Indeed. Also, none of those suggestions were actual suggestions, obviously.

And nothing was aimed at anyone in particular, except the bit about adults being more mature might have been about JMV a little bit.  :'(

I also think it's funny how we both said we were leaving for the night in our PM conversation, and neither of us did. SWEETEST SORROW FELT FOR MY OWN LENORE

That said, I will now quote a random Poe poem from this volume, and then I will actually depart.

Gaily bedight,
A gallant night
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of El Dorado.
But he grew old --
This knight so bold --
And -- o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like El Dorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow --
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be --
This land of El Dorado?"
"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied --
"If you seek for El Dorado."

Ya, that is funny neither of us left :P

Poe eh? I dont read the poems, I like the stories. :O Hop Frog, being my utmost favorite!

However, it seems like this put us in the situation of "The Cask of Ammontillado"

We are casing ourselves in, and if we don't get out of the tomb now, we will be forever trapped....

Hence, I removed my revolution sigs, but I DO still support JMV.

As always, you're up in arms about whatever it is you think I'm attacking. I don't like you any less, James. I don't dislike you.

I know you weren't and aren't actually trying to stage a rebellion or whatever, and I know you're just doing it to piss me and the Admins off, but that's exactly what irritates me. What kind of asshat goes out of his way just to piss someone off? Congratulations, though, your scheme worked. I've been thoroughly irritated, and I'm actually neglecting important school poop to type some half-witted rebuttal. I hope you sleep better tonight.
