fffffffffffffffffff
If you do find it though, definitely take your gf. I guarantee she'll love it.

Hey, Miyazaki has yet to let me down. I'll have to go see it this weekend, I didn't see it in theaters last weekend.

The AMC theatres and Marquee Cinemas around here aren't playing it. If they aren't playing it now they won't play it later so I'm probably out of luck.

Hopefully my luck changes otherwise I'll have to wait for the DVD release.

Was it that bad? I heard it was a typical action movie, with over-the-top explosions and what not.

typical action movies are frankly crap. No thought is put into it and it's nothing but loud noises and flashy frames.
Not to mention it's licensed making it creatively bankrupt.

Eh my friend said he liked it. He doesn't watch many movies though.

Almost forgot about this. I saw Ponyo this Saturday, and here is my verdict:

As far as Miyazaki films go, it was okay.
As far as animated movies nowadays go, this movie was a gem.

The art was beautiful, the characters were strong, the American voice acting was actually pretty good (Liam Neeson as Fujimoto = Perfect casting), and overall, it was very good. A lot of people I've seen say its most weak point is the plot, which, although it isn't that strong, was still adequate. The story had that classic Miyazaki feel to it, and it was what it was supposed to be; a Japanese fairy tale.

I encourage people here to go see it, if they haven't already.
Holy crap all my sigs were always poop. Best leave this space alone.

I thought it was worse than your typical action movie...

The problem is that it extremifies everything that genre has wrong with it.

I expected more Cyrus/Jonas rage in this thread.  I'm glad you guys are mature enough to look past that.  I can't say that much about GameFAQs.

It seems okay to me.  I'd love Disney to start making more animated works, even if Miyazaki works with them.
