Warren Beatty was the star of the 1990 film Dick Tracy, and he is currently fighting for his rights for the character in court.

On November 17th, 2006, Tribune Co. sent Beatty a letter saying that he had exactly two years to do what he wanted with the Dick Tracy character before they take away the rights of the character. Beatty started filming a Dick Tracy TV special on November 8th, 2008, and Tribune says that they can still take away the rights to the character because they say that he is just putting together something haphazardly. Thus, Beatty is suing.
