Title: Which is quicker?
Post by: Rayquarian on February 08, 2008, 09:12:32 PM
Playing 20 hours of Vs. matches in Melee by yourself, or playing 700 Vs. matches in Melee by yourself?

I'd go for the 700 matches.

How long does it take to set the match up, play through it, and then start the next one?

20 hours is 1200 minutes, so if everything is less than 1.7 minutes, then 700 matches is shorter.

turn on a stock vs. match.

and just leave your system on overnight... easiset way to get him. :)
You are trying to get mewtwo, right?

btw, shouldn't this be on the smash board?

I tried that, but when I woke up, the battle had ended.  Bowser was KO'ed at 99:59.  I'm guessing that's all SSBM can handle.

You're not supposed to leave the Computers on.

You have to plug in your controllers, set it so 1st Player, 2nd Player, etc. are playing, you should probably turn items off so they don't randomly spawn on top of someone and then set the rules to a stock match. Then just leave it on overnight.

Did I missa anyththing?

If you have time on your hands, just put it on 1-stock match and keep running off (choose a small stage preferably. Battlefield or Fountain of dreams. Also choose a fast faller, AKA Falco). If you don't, just do what they say.

if we're talking one stock, it's 700 hundred matches

don't worry mewtwo is the only hard character to unlock in melee.

20 hrs. set no time limit, and either 2 players or just a lvl anything CPU. then just leave the game alone.

The 700 matches by far.  Go to vs mode l stock choose lv 9 ness and fight at the DK place with the house in the middle.  Be sure Ness is player 2.  Ness will double jump and fall of the course by himself.  You just have to stand there but you have to be player 1.  I did this about 600 times just to get the Food Trophy and now Ness has over 600 SDs on my records.

2 hrs, four controllers.  It will only take 5 hours then.

It depends. 700 matches is probably faster but you will probably get bored after about 25(super sudden death+someone with really long range+mute city=less than 5 seconds per match.). But you could just leave your wii on all day and all night on vs mode with 99 lives against a level 1 at hyrule temple.

700 easily
just set it to 1 life and fall off the edge

20 hours may take longer, but its a lot less boring to leave a 1 v 1 match on while you sleep every night for one or two days. Just turn off items, play on Fountain of Dreams, and plug in two controllers. Just leave it on for 8 or 9 hours every night for two nights :)

So much easier.

I just left it on for 20 hours then just exit the melle screen and BAM newcomer approaching and you can get
mewtwo
if you do 99 stock, it is possible that the game will end.  Just do what I did and make it Time and change the time limit to "None."  That way, the game doesn't end until you exit out of it.
