Question about hatching eggs in Diamond

First off, does it go by how many steps you take like in Sapphire? Or does it go by how long you wait there or something..?

Second,
If how many steps: does anyone know how many it takes for the egg to hatch?
If time: Anyone know how long you have to wait there (Or does just changing the DS clock work? >_>)

You hatch eggs by keeping them in your party with the other Pokemon. They hatch within about 1,300 steps or something like that. Putting a Pokemon like Slugma with the Heat Body or something ability will cut the ammount of steps you need to take in half. Pretty simple.
