This was an assignment for my English class, in which I had to write a "What if?" scenario for a certain section of the Odyssey. Though it is no more than three hundred words long, I hope you enjoy it, and if it gets enough positive feedback, I may consider continuing it.

---

                                                                                                           There
In the majesty of the moonlit night
The noble Odysseus took reign
Of the ship on which his crew
         sailed.

His eyes gazed into
         the
Midnight sky, his mind ever adrift
With that of the ever coursing waves of
The sea.

                                                                                                            Here
He pondered his next move.
His intention was to get back
To his loving wife
As soon as possible

Although, he remembered
The men were worn and tired from their
Long and tiresome journey.

He glanced back as his most faithful, Eurylochus,
Approached him with a solemn smile.

                                                                                                             "We
Among the crew
Have quite obviously become tired
And wearisome over these last few days."

Odysseus nodded.
"I understand my men's troubles.
I wish to dock at a safe resting point,
However, the closest is the sun god
Helios's island, and I am afraid the
Men of this ship would

Disregard his pleas to not
Kill the cattle located on the island."

Eurylochus sighed.
"I quite understand, Odysseus.
However, we all are half dead with weariness,
Falling asleep over the oars..."

Odysseus tried to focus on his trusted
Man's speech, but he eventually grew tired
And fell asleep with his eyes open.

After Eurylochus had finished his explanation
         Odysseus reawakened.
                                                                                                             "Ah, yes,
It makes sense.
Unfortunately, though, my great power
And ego - which is the size of this ship,
Perhaps combined with the hull of another
Are too large to accommodate the island.
I am led to believe you will thank me in the
Long run."

With that said, the weary Odysseus retired
For the night, whilst Eurylochus and his men plotted
A mutiny which they would commit the following
               Night.

The ship docked near Odysseus's home the next day,
However, which spared many lives and troubles.

Nice, a bit short and expository and the line breaks are awkward at times and you could have used more figurative language but on the whole it's good :3
