What's with all these licensed movies?

First, there was all those announcements of The Sims, Metal Gear Solid, and other licensed materials coming to the big screen, but some new ones are taking the cake in the "being weird" category.

Okay, first up is a Macgruber movie. Macgruber is a sketch on SNL. I just find it funny that a parody of something gets a movie before the source material.
