What got you into Anime?

I grew up in Hiroshima, so I watched a ton of anime there. I don't think any outside sources got me into it. I just liked it.

Naturally, there isn't much anime on the Dutch telly, so I didn't even know there was a clear distinction between that and western cartoons. A couple years ago a friend of mine started recommending me some popular Anime around the time. I cought on ever since.
