Who actually used the ship missile expansions?

Seriously.  I'm almost done and I just learned that you can sometimes use ship missiles in unscripted spots.  I only figured this out because I was totally at a loss of why they even existed.  So seriously, who has actually used ship missiles besides at the specified spots in the story?

I've definitely used them. Probably one of the best places to use it is in the Thorn Jungle, right after bombing the large wall with your ship. Those missiles kill all the pirates instantly, including the Beserker Knight.

I only found this out after I beat the game...
But I will make liberal use of this asset in my Hyper Mode run, once I get the missile upgrade.

Yeah...if there are enemies outside, I pretty much just bomb them and get it over with.
