Working on my mechanical/aerospace engineering degree. Been working out a bit more nowadays, so that's been good. Also climbed a mountain last month, which was a pretty nice first. Other than that, just trying to find a decent job for right now...not going too well. :/

Senior year of college to finish up my CS degree and Psych minor. My love lives with me at home(has been for about a year now), and I work at Target in between semesters.
I know I've never shared much with you guys, but:
Due to a ton of family issues I'm taking a break from college and taking a job with a company in Maine. So I'll be moving to the Bridgeton/Portland area.
The company wants to pay for me to finish my education after I'm with them for a year so I'm not worried about that.
My fiance' is coming with me and we're going to start our really real adult lives in the next few months. It's kind of surreal honestly. I appreciate my family, but they don't think they get how terrible they can be. I think I must have gotten into like 3 fistfights with my brother and dad over the dumbest poop. I'm glad I was taught to fight by my late grandfather, but man its getting old and I just want to get out of here. It's too negative and too stressful, and I'm glad these changes are happening and that I'm the one making them. It feels really good.
Come February I should be all settled up in Maine with my job going smoothly. It's just cabling, but the money is very good and I can finish my Math/Engineering degree while I do it. All of this is both terrifying and exciting.

No. It is as hard as I think it is because I've tried. I've always tried to be a good, friendly person and always be myself above all else. Every time I am pushed away or blocked out. Aside from my childhood friends who have already gotten to know me (and I'm mostly not in regular contact with), this happens every. Single. Time.
The world is practically formed of nothing but judgmental, lying poop holes, and as a result my self-confidence is wrecked. I question every single little thing I do that involves other people, and that's only when I bother doing anything like that, because I have an expectation of being pushed away again.

Seriously, when I stopped coming here it was because I got a girlfriend, and actually made something of myself in real life. It turns out if you simply start making yourself socially aware(just aware of social norms) you don't even have to practice the popular social norms. Just know what they are so you can't outcast yourself. On top of that there are a lot more people out there "like us" that function socially, even play sports.
I came here all the time like sophomore year, but then got my first "real" girlfriend by junior year, and by the time senior year came around, I wasn't that kid picked last in gym. I was picked over some of the jocks even simply because I was liked better.
Since then I did break up with her after 2 years, but now I'm with another girl, who I love very much. We've been living together for over a year now(minus the time we spend at college).
Did you ever think the reason you say it's a " statistical impossibility" is not because of your social click, but perhaps because you can't have a girlfriend if you spend ever day locked in your room. Of course you wont find one because you're not going out and meeting people.

I do go out. Rarely, since we live in kind of a small town with few social gatherings. And every time I do I'm pushed away as usual. Rejected. Sitting alone, scaring people away without them telling me what their problem is. Being blocked off even during mandatory volunteer speech sessions. Having lies spread about me, hurting others' feelings despite my strongest efforts not to... There's so much of a life story to go over. The world just rejects people like us. sadbot; I don't even know how exactly girlfriends are supposed to work. They're like that mythical treasure you've heard of, but can never comprehend yourself.

I know I've been gone a while, but we're all older than when I used to come here, many of us matured into who we are now. I'm quite embarrassed how I used to be 6 years ago. So how you used to and how you now perceive us seems wrong. Any one of us having a girlfriend is not a strange thing.
I go to a complete nerd school, sausage fest(probably 5:1 M:F ratio living on campus), despite that, many guys here do have girlfriends, most are socially acceptable, many play sports, many are "party goers." The kids that don't socially don't fit in, are extreme. Like don't shower often, so they smell god awful, or 'fap' in common rooms because their roommate kicked them out for smelling. Sleeping in the dining hall, or simply just never leaving their room. Our biggest clubs are probably Magic and Anime club.
My point is, I'm not trying to put you down, but just because some of us are "dorks" in society's mind, doesn't mean we don't function socially.

all this stuff is gross is and shunned becuase people don't want to be around it. it's not like it's a deformity from preventing them from showering and acting decent, they're just being selfish poop holes who are too lazy to do those things. like there is this kid at my school who wears the same pair of jeans everyday, smells like poop, and has tons of dandruff going everywhere. he also sneezes everywhere and doesn't even attempt to use a tissue or cover it up. poop's nasty. like, dude at school, i'll talk to you about pokemon iv breeding or whatever but don't act all elitist because of it and don't get offended when i don't give you a ride home because you don't have your license at 26. every time he stinks up my car and i roll down the windows on purpose and he continues to roll them up every time. he's so intercourse ing socially unaware it hurts. the intercourse ing neckbeard had the gull to be a complete weirdo when some girl asked him about his 3ds, she said she played new super mario bros on her old one and he started telling her that he iv trains and ev trains and all this embarrassing poop. also he angrily corrected her becuase she called his 3ds "new ds" when she wasn't referring to the "new 3ds".

You're right, I'm not very up front with these people. I find this stuff hard to bring up, I don't know how to say "yo dude you smell bad don't sit next to me until you shower" or "yo dude get some head and shoulders gosh darn you got white flakes all over my backpack" because it's hard for me to be blunt and an poop hole like that these days. I just tolerate it while I'm in class and try to move on when I get out of the class with them. Would you rather be told you're a super nerd that everyone thinks is weird or just tolerated and then left behind once the class is over? It's a hard choice. I feel like it's a lose-lose situation for me. I did tell him to stop rolling up the windows, but I lied and said it was because it was hot in the car. Maybe I just assume everyone over 20 understands how to take a shower or how to dress well and not do gross stuff. Most people grow out of it in middle school. Any advice forumgoers?

also tip from custom on girls: don't treat them like the mystical unicorn or anything different than you are. the more you do that the more you're fighting a losing war. that being said, be polite (like you're meeting a new friend) and honest, but maybe hold back weird personal poop (like how you spend 900 hours pokemon iv training) until you get to know them better. in my experience the best relationships just come from really strong friendships, you don't want to look for people to intercourse and dump (unless you're into that kind of thing, you should check out some raves or house parties if that's your thing). just find a common ground, maybe talk to girls in a mutual interest club or use an icebreaker like talking about much you love/hate the class you're in. also don't expect favors or expect them to owe you things because you do something for them. also don't complain about the friendzone or whatever not everyone wants to bang you and that's ok

You can't be serious...
The literal sense of a "neckbeard" is when you don't shave the part of your beard that's growing on your neck. If you have a beard, at last shave it up closer to your jaw/chin. Which is usually someone who isn't aware of their own appearance to others. It's not that you have to look good, but you have to at least look like you can take care of your own appearance. Also in that picture that guy has really crappy facial hair, so he shouldn't even try to have a beard in the first place(even if he thinks it's "cool" to have a beard)
And to "intercourse and dump," he's talking about one night stands. Just going to a party(or anything of the sort) some girl is all up on your dick, you go into a room, intercourse , and then never talk again. You are implying being a "gamer" means you don't socialize. I will reiterate: Magic and Anime club are some of the biggest clubs on campus. Frag Fest is probably the biggest social event on campus as well. Also, my friends and I make video games into drinking games at times.
MarioKart: You have to finish your drink before the end of the race, BUT drinking and driving is bad. So you have to pull over whenever you drink. OR everytime you fall or wipe out, take a drink.
Worms: Every 10 damage is a drink, suicide you finish your drink.
Smash Bros.: Every death is a drink.
Maybe not what 'gamers' do, but just because we play games doesn't make us a "gamer" or socially inept.
If you don't consider yourself a gamer I wonder what you're doing on this forum. And big as those clubs may be, they're still isolated, and every member is lonely inside. Even when you are at one of those clubs you're still pushed away. :(

and that's okay, admitting you have a problem is the first step. you can't lump people with you to feel better about yourself, especially when it's not even a real situation. but i believe you can upgrade yourself from the 'low social status' if you really have the desire to do it. if not, don't worry about it. just do what makes you happy, but if you really don't like having 'low social status' try to make it change. change little things, your hairstyle, how you dress, those are easy. maybe try approaching people differently than you normally would.

I was recently invited to go out social dancing at a Country Bar, and once I started going, I couldn't stop. I now social dance every weekend.
I have a dance partner, plenty of friends, and a fairly active social life.
There are literally months that go by without me playing a video game, but I still do play, and love to play them. I just bought Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and play every weekend, I also Bought Zelda: Link Between Worlds, but haven't played it too much yet.
I pre-ordered Hyrule Warriors and Smash Bros.

If you're right about anything, its that perhaps I'm not as good as I used to be. I used to play a lot of fighters, and I still do but nowhere near as much. Competitively speaking, I'm probably only in top form with Guilty Gear XX Accent Core R, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter 2(any iteration with Cammy and I'm intercourse ing good), Naruto Storm 3/Revolution, and Smash Bros Melee. I'd probably have to warm up a lot with anything else.
If you really wanna play some King of Fighters XIII I could do it though. My PSN ID is EternalRyuenjin. I'd also be down to play Blazblue. I only have continuum shift but I could probably get whichever version you have easily if you own one.
I'd also like to point out that my fight stick is busted. Give me some time to either fix it or get a new one. I have bills to pay so it could be some time, but this is gonna happen man. Should be fun
I do not have KOF on the PS3. I have it on the PC and iPhone, so that will not do. I also have it on the 360, but FUCK MONTHLY FEES! And fight sticks are not necessary. Perhaps you have a 3DS with Super Street Fighter 4 or Dead or Alive Dimensions?

They're pretty necessary if you're a player that actually knows what's up. I've only ever played a handful of pad players that could beat me or challenge me, one is one of my best friends, but they're a dime a dozen and good pad players like my friend admit that there is something holding them back, they just have a preference and stick to it.

Yes but every fighting game event I've ever been to(it's in the double digits, lost count) uses console, not PC. All my friends use console, not PC.
The only types of people that play Fighters on PC are the dedicated folks that likely rebought it just to replay a better looking version and people that are just forever alone that wanna play online.
