I have to be honest; I've been seeing this board yet I keep wondering what the hell does Akiharbara mean. Last I remember it's a place.

Can anyone tell me where it is? (I'm guessing japan) Or furthermore, what it has to do with Anime and so forth? My knowledge is rather limited on anime.
