It depends. If every one starts to get there act together and start to take better care of the planet it will be a good future. But if we don't things will get bad. Stronger hurricanes, rising sea levels, droughts, food shortages, and being started over water. We are all ready starting to rashion food here in American. Things aren't looking to good now but theres still hope.
Welcome fellow optimist!

We need to be optimistic. Thats not to say just hope for the best and it will happen because it won't. We all need to work a little. Also I am glad to say that we are beginning to head in the right direction.

I really don't see much happening within the next 20 years.

We might get awesome porn, though.  The next John Holmes might appear.

FORNICATION BABY!

The major things I see happening in the next 20 years are droughts, war, oil reserves running dry, and technology improvement.

Virtual reality would be awesome....

That oil thing is interesting but I hope we come up with something that don't give out any greenhouse gases soon. And also about the AIDS thing. In by biology class we watched a documentary about disses where they compared aids to the black death (at least I think it was the black death). Any way they did some kind of study and it said a certain percentage (I can't remember what it was) of the population devolved an immunity to it. In other words they evolved so that the disease can't kill them.

Apollo

im predicting that the human population will soon begin dropping due to starvation, war, etc
this is all mother natures way of evening things out
alternate energy sources will be a must

Nayrman

As per usual nothing notably big will happen.
After all, people all thought we'd have flying cars by 2000 in the 1940's - 1960's (which is fundamentally flawed in itself).
Sure, technology will continue to enhance our lives, but it won't be anything drastic or something in hindsight we should have all seen coming (ipod like storage devices were going to happen regardless of the company that did it first).
Probably the only drastic changes will be in wars considering the middle east is in a fast track to basically start world war 3 in upon itself.

and jeezus christ some alternative energies would be nice Federal policy makers!
