Who would it be, and why?
Marth, Roy, and Ike don't count.
I fully anticipate Hector being a top answer.
Myself, I'd go with Ephraim or Eirika from SS.
Eirika would be a female rapier user, which would be boss, but Ephraim would be easy to figure out for the makers AND unique. A spear user would have attacks that can reach from a distance, but not from across the stage. It'd be hard to get close to him, and that'd be intercourse ing awesome.
hector or ephraim. hector is the best FE protagonist in the series imo and ephraim would be easy to design a moveset around.
eirika is a stupid character. intercourse 'er. i'd rather have lyn over her since lyn's already been a assist trophy and intercourse it i have no other reasons besides lyn's baller

main characters of any FE games that are magic? They'd have a better chance than Soren; being Ike's 2nd or 3rd or 4rth in command isn't going to get you anywhere realistically. What about that girl from the cover of Radiant Dawn? I haven't played it yet, but can she do anything/is she important in that game?

magic doesn't work well in a game about close combat. look at zelda. if she had din's fire be accurately represented, she'd be horribly overpowered. the best i could see it is having wind as b up recovery, fire as a side b din's fire ripoff, b down as thunder which will home in on an enemy but can still be dodged, and regular b just be blizzard/fimbulvetr or something that would be a projectile. it's honestly hard to think of a balanced and original playstyle for long range characters i nthis game.
