You're right. Dragonball Evolution wasn't bad.
It was completely terrible!
I even tried viewing it as just a movie instead of part of the DB franchise. The acting was terrible (which is something that will always ruin a movie for me). The storyline was even worse. The only thing even remotely interesting about it was the special effects. I still wanted to walk out of the theater, though.

The characters in The Last Airbender were the most shallow, two dimensional I've seen in a movie.  The relationships between characters never developed, they were just there. 
The story arc felt empty and failed to capture the audience.
Yes, by 'interesting' I meant terrible.
