Ok, so this E3 was disappointing for Nintendo.

But it can only get better from here, right?
depends on what happens during Nintendo's usual event in the fall...
Pikmin 3, F-Zero Wii, Kid Icarus, Pilotwings Wii, the possibilities are endless.

Apparently the amazing title Reggie was talking about was Animal Crossing.
I like Animal Crossing, and will probably buy it on November 15th, but I wouldn't think of it in the way Reggie was talking about.
Animal Crossing isn't a hardcore title. It's a title that everyone can like, hardcore gamers included.

A hardcore title would be Mario/Zelda/Metroid along with F-Zero, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem and Pilotwings.
Golden Sun please. :(
Golden Sun and Kid Icarus please...
we've asked for these for how long and gotten nothing in return?
Very long, and Nintendo is teasing us by putting Pit in Brawl.

Same thing they are doing by putting Lucas in Brawl.

Their system is also much more expensive and +10 for games does add up.
But as for DLC, you and I both know the Wii couldn't handle it anyway.

Nintendo would have to
1. Make a hard drive
2. Market this to the casual gamer
3. Hope it sells
4. Make online more accessible to the casual gamer
5. Lower the up-tightness of FC's
6. Make DLC
7. Market DLC
8. ???
9. Profit

All in all, a very daunting and risky task.
Don;t expect it any time soon.

But it's already happening with Guitar Hero World Tour, so here's how Nintendo is like. It's fine if you want to have your own servers and set up your own in-game store for DLC, but don't expect us to do any of it.

Samba de Amigo and GH are already doing it HtA.
Sony does it just fine and they're making enough money.
Nintendo would do it if they actually bothered to make a system that could handle it (cheapskates)

I had heard that GH was still unconfirmed, but that's good at least.
Darn my PS2 version, GH4 will be on my 360.

It has been confirmed. They even said it in an interview.

And SSBB kind of had it too because you could take stages and stuff from Wi-Fi

U can't keep it, so it's not DLC (again, cheapskates)

Oh well. The game will also have GH Tunes where you can take songs people made and keep them. This will be so cool! 8)

Rayquarian

No, because I knew better than to set my expectations high since there was no evidence of any big news being announced at E3, plus, Nintendo doesn't take E3 as seriously anymore.

extraz

hell no, I don't even believe in the whole hardcore thing. It seems too convenient to be able to generalize the gaming audience like that.
