Pikmin and Olimar

Who is Captain Olimar?

Captain olimar is the protagonist of the Pikmin series.
In the game he is identified as the top employee of Hocotate Freight Company. He has a wife and children, and communicates with them whenever he can.



The story starts when Olimar is taking a vacation in outer space. However, during his flight, a comet hits his spaceship, the Dolphin, and it crashes on a planet unknown to him. Parts of the spaceship fall off as it plummets to the ground.



When he regains consciousness, Olimar finds out that the planet's atmosphere contains oxygen, which is poisonous to people from Hocotate, and he can stay on the planet for only 30 days before his life support system stops working. Olimar must retrieve many of the spaceship parts so he can rebuild his spaceship and return to Hocotate.



To help Olimar are indigenous creatures called Pikmin, which are nearly extinct and unable to survive in the environment without his leadership when he arrives. As this element of symbiosis develops, Olimar discovers parts of his ship and travels across the Pikmin Planet.



In Pikmin 2, the game's sequel, Olimar finds that his company, Hocotate Freight, is in serious debt. They even had to sell Captain Olimar's ship, the Dolphin, which was the only remaining corporate asset worth anything.

After commenting that this is more than a year's salary, Olimar's boss sends him on a trip with Louie, a fellow employee, to the Pikmin Planet to scrounge up 10,000 Pokos worth of treasure to get the company back up and running. Olimar returns to the planet of the Pikmin once again.



Super smash Bros.

Olimar appears in Brawl as a starter character.
He uses Pikmin as his.."Weapons"..



His B moves are quite uniqe.. possibly the most unique moveset in the game...

His B move is called Pikmin pluck.
basically, he just pulls Pikmin out of the ground. Odd, huh?



His side B move is called Pikmin Throw.
Olimar throws his pikmin buddies at his opponent. They latch onto him/her and start doing damage.



His up b move is called Pikmin Chain.
He formates his pikmin into a living chain to cling onto stages. The More Pikmin you have, the longer your chain is.



and his down B move is called Pikmin Order.
Basically it forms all your pikmin into one line.
Good for recovering seperated pikmin.



Note: You can only hold six Pikmin at a time.



They can also die too, so always try to keep six out at all times.



(NO! they were so young!) :P

His Final smash is called "End of day".
It's where olimar gets into his ship and flies away.
While the wild beasts give your opponents a real beating.



Then it comes crashing down on your weakened enemies.


(That's gotta hurt.)

So, you should try Olimar out. You'll have a fun time using him.
