Title: Looking for players for Nuzlocke Challenge
Post by: Silverhawk79 on June 07, 2010, 09:42:27 PM
In case you didn't already know, NSFCD is doing a Nuzlocke Challenge marathon. You can check out the details here. (http://www.nuzlockechallenge.com)

Anyways, we need players to actually do this. We're doing each game from each generation (R/B/Y, G/S/C, etc.), so we'll need a bunch.

Post here to be added to the list of players, and state which game you'd like to do.

Kilroy has Emerald reserved, iirc.

Also, we need people to pre-record footage (some hours of it). If interested, pm me for details.

Wait, so are we actually recording or can we just do it and make a comic for it? (Like Nuzlocke does)

We will be playing through in style. If you would like to contribute articles, comics, etc. though then be my guest - anything helps. But we're having a marathon of play.

I've already started a Leafgreen one, but I'm not far in, if you'd like me to restart. Problem is I can't record it, and I have no artistic style. I can keep writing my pseudo-fanfic if you'd like.

This, but I could try to do a poopty looking comic anyway.

I'm in. I can record (W or W/out commentary), live stream (once I figure out how to do this), make a story (I want to be a writer, so this come naturally), or draw (this route might make your eyes bleed).

I would like to get a working DS emulator if anyone can tell me one, and I will handle the D/P/Pl if I can. If not, I will take up the challenge of Crystal.

No$GBA makes a wonderful one. It works, too. Although you're stuck at one size.

I'm in. I'd like to take Crystal, please. Although I might have some issues with getting the camera in the right place...

I agree, No$GBA is amazing. If you want to change the size, download No$Zoomer.

I could record FireRed...

I'll do this. I'll do Ruby (since I haven't played that game, ever)
I can also record it, but most likely without commentary. Unless I feel like sitting like a retard talking to a game while playing it.

I'm in. I'll either do Ruby or Yellow, since playing Crystal would be long(er) and redundant since I'm still playing SoulSilver.

Problem is I can't record footage. If I could, I'd do it Cloud8745 LP style, but I can't. I could just write out my adventures, kind of like how Rob is.

We're going to try and have one person do each one, so try not to overlap. In terms of written accords, by all means, for those who can't do anything otherwise, pm me a sample, and I'll see what I can do with it. But footage is king here.

I'd like to have some with commentary though. Oh, and nuzlocke himself is joining us.

Yeah, I would love to do the commentary then. Maybe have a live stream. Hell, a marathon run. I sit down early morning and beat the entire game (or fail). I pretty sure I know how to record from the computer now, but does anyone know where I can get a good DS emulator. I can't record a DS (mine was stolen) and the video would be crap if I did.

I'm game for anything. And like I said. I will do a 4th generation game if I get a DS emulator. If not, Crystal.

HI MAGNUM (http://uploading.com/files/ded98c6m/HI%2BMAGNUM.zip/), up to date No$GBA with No$Zoomer. I'm sure you don't want to donate $2.50 right now for the full version.

You mean there are people that aren't doing that?  Also, which ruleset will we be using?
Will there be limitations on pokemon center use and backtracking?
Will nicknames be neccessary?
etc.

Teach me how to get and use an emulator and how to get and use a recording thingy to record it and I will do it. Well as long as it's free, I don't know anything about this stuff.

Whether I do this or not, I still want to learn how to do the above, I'd like to play on the comp if I could.

I use a program called CamStudio. I don't know if there's better ones out there, but this one is so darn easy to use. Just google "CamStudio" to find it.. it's free.

e:According to Silver, this is starting tomorrow, and not today. Since I have to go do a bunch of poop tomorrow (And a wedding to attend the day after), I may not be able to make it. However, I have a very good chance of making it at July 2 - 3, so I'll attempt to stream then. Until then, I'll screenshot the run, and (Hopefully) put it up here before I start streaming.

I'll get everything set up when my computer isn't struggling later on.

Well intercourse .  I did really poorly in school this semester, and it looks like my parents are taking away my computer for the summer.  Starting tonight.  This means I won't be able to participate, and probably won't be active at all until mid-September.  Shit sucks and I'll probably forget about you guys.

So long,

Okay, so here's what I can do right now:
-stream until 5 PM EST
-Screenshot the rest of today (Possibly tomorrow)
-Post screenshots and witty one-liners here
-Stream more during the weekend

Would this work for now?

I downloaded Livestream Procaster and the emulator/ROM for Crystal. I go to follow Silver's instructions (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/silverhawk79/step2.png) and find that I can't click Camera.

...what am I missing?

You probably don't have a webcam or camera hooked up, which is still fine. Try broadcasting with just game clicked.

Yeah, it's not streaming. And yet, there's footage of NOTHING in Livestream Studios.

I give up. It's not working. I'm sorry for letting you guys down when it came to participating.

Alternatively, I could be the biggest computerfag on the forums and not know what to do. But I got my stream (http://www.livestream.com/skymyl) working now.

You probably don't need to click it. Just click Game.

HEY GUESS WHAT IT DIDN'T WORK

Nuzlocke indirectly gave me the inspiration to download ManyCam, which is working. Except for the lack of sound...

Hey Captain FAGGOT. I'll do PKMN Silver if you're still needing players. That or FireRed. Whichever you want.

... intercourse ing intercourse  intercourse  intercourse ly poop intercourse .

Why the hell do I get called in early every single week at least 3 times? Sorry I didn't participate, I was really looking forward to doing this too.

By the way, we raised just over $250.
Not too shabby.

We would've raised more if I promoted the challenge on another site like I was supposed to. We didn't reach our goal...and it's my fault.
