Title: Halp with Graphics cards
Post by: えっちーせんぱい on October 25, 2008, 07:32:48 PM
Since I have no clue what else to ask for christmas, I decided to get some upgrades for my computer.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161161 <- I decided on that for RAM, since its the cheapest and I can only get 2GB max anyway.

I can't decide what graphics card to get though.. i'm stuck between this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103033 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121273

One's DX10, and the other's DX9, but I just want one that runs Aero at 1920x1200 since I don't plan on gaming.

Edit: AGP only, my motherboard sucks.

I don't want to get a new computer because I'm getting a laptop by the time I go to college.

Both are terrible, even if you're not gaming.
Edit: either way, if you want one of those, go with the Diamond one.

Here's a solid card, and it's from XFX. Look at the reveiws before you consider a card, this looks to be the best in that price range.

ATi didn't do well during the AGP age, and the Nvidia FX5200 is a terrible, terrible card.

I don't think there's anything good as far as AGP goes, but meh, I read the reviews too but I was probably looking at the wrong things.

Being that one's only 43 dollars, I probably have a higher chance of getting it with the ram too, thanks.
