The History of Goomba CrossingWelcome to Goomba Crossing. There is a lot of history behind this RP. Back in the day of Power On RP at the orignal NSider Forums, I created an RP called Goomba Crossing with the assistance of a friend named Josh (his NSider name was different but I actually can't recall what it was...) Goomba Crossing thrived quickly. Many members latched to it during it's first night of existence. It won RPotW 2 times (it was rebuilt) and became a popular little town. I hope to breathe some new life into it by introducing it to these forums.

Bocko was taking a stroll through the town early Sunday morning when he spotted the new chief of police, 20fan. "Howdy!" He shouted happily. Jogging slowly up to him, he saw that he already had his badge. "You're ontop of things, aren't ya?" He said with a grin. "You be sure to keep Goomba Town nice and secure." Bocko said conclusively. "I'm gonna go grab some breakfast so I'll catch ya later." He bowed politely and then started off towards his home.
20fan said nothing and walked towards Uncle Goomba's appliance hut.
After a nice, filling breakfast at his home, Bocko headed over to the stores to see if anyone was working yet. Finding nobody, he opened up the stores and stood nearby, ready to be a clerk for anybody until one of the clerks woke up. :)
20fan walked inside the store and rang the bell three times
Hearing the bell, Bocko jogged to Uncle Goomba's appliance hut, ran around the counter, and looked at 20fan with a smile. "Can I help you find something, sir?"

Bocko nodded and looked around. "I'll be right back." He disappeared into a back room and then came back a few moments later. "Alright. You're in luck. We have 5 in stock. You can choose between the colors of White, Black, Green, and Silver. What'll it be?" :)
"Black"
Bocko nodded and wrote something on a sheet of paper. "Every appliance comes with a warranty. Just sign here and inital here." He said, gesturing at the paper with a black pen. "I'll go get your fridge." Bocko vanished into the back room once more and returned with the fridge on a large cart. "Sorry about the inconvieniece. We're kind of short on extra hands. Need any help getting this back to your house?"
"No, I'll carry it" 20fan said he then put 200 coins on table picked up the fridge and left.
Bocko looked at 20fan carrying the fridge out. "Wow. He's a strong one." Chuckling to himself, he scoops the coins up and drops them into the Coin Register and stores a copy of the warranty paper in a filing cabinet in the corner. "Looks like nobody else is coming in right now." Bocko says quietly under his breath. He walks outside and closes the door behind him.
20fan installed the fridge in his house and went back outside.
Bocko closes up the shops in the shopping center and starts off around town to look for people as they wake up. Along the way he finds 1 Coin laying on the ground. Shrugging, he places it in his pocket, to be added to the Town Funds later.
20fan walks towards the general store to see that it's closed.
Strolling past the town center to go to the shores, Bocko sees 20fan looking at the closed sign on the door of the General Store. He shouts to him, "Do you want to buy something?"
"Yes , I do"
Bocko walks over to the store, turns his key in the lock and opens the door. Plucking the closed sign from the window, he motions for 20fan to come in. Bocko smiles as he walks over to the counter and stands happily behind the register.
"One beanbag chair and a pound of lunchmeat" he siad putting 25 coins on the table.
Nodding, Bocko walks to the deli. He weighs out a pound of meat and places it on the counter for 20fan to take. On his way back to the register, he stops by the beanbag chairs. "What color would you like? Red, Blue, Black, Green, Yellow, Pink, or Purple?" :)

After paying for his cheap little shack, Boogie knew exactly what to do. He headed for the Goomba Town General Store to purchase some simple suplies.
He looked around the store for a bit, wanting to see exactly what he was going to purchase. He picked up 5 apples, 2 loafs of bread, 2 pounds of ham, and 10 coins worth of cheese. He noticed some tasty looking snack cakes and picked up one. He saw some bean bag chairs and thought they would be perfect for his house.
"Can I get some help?" Boogie called behind his pile of food.

He stops at the gumball machine and puts in a coin, turns the knob, and a red gumball rolls out into his hand. "I love red." He says with a smile as he pops it into his mouth and starts chewing away.

Bocko smiles and hands him his ID card. Laughing, he points out the ID number. "007."

Nodding, Bocko gathered the items. "That's gonna set you back 215 coins." He said, after typing on a calculator for a moment.
As Bob hands Bocko the coins he thinks to hiself,"Wow, I still have 385 coins left!"
20fan heads towards the bar.
Bocko placed the coins in the register and smiled. "It seems like everyone is hitting each store in waves." He said with a chuckle.
20fan stood outside the bar.
Bocko walked up next to 20fan. "Hey there."
"Hey, " Boogie started, "Can I that new Legend of Zelda game for the DS?"

As Bob left the left the game shop he spoted 20fan gamer next to the bar door. Bob walked up to the bar to welcome his boss. " Hi Chief 20fan. What are you up to?",said Bob in a plain and netural voice.
"Thanks." Boogie said as he grabed the game and went to go take his post at the store.
Bocko nodded at Boogie and looked around. "Looks like that's it for now...." He said to himself. He walked from the counter to the door and walked outside, closing and locking the door behind him. He decided to check in on Boogie at the stoor and see if anything was up over there.
Bocko walked in the front door and found Boogie behind the counter. "Any customers been through here?" He asked curiously.

Bocko was in strict awe. "That's incredible, man." Bocko dug into his wallet again and dropped 4 coins into a glass jar that had 'TIPS' written accross it. :)

Bocko smiled and began sweeping the floor of the general store. Then, suddenly he realized he forgot the ID card of a new citizen back on his desk. Briskly, he walked out the door, locked it, and began walking towards town hall. He spotted 20fan outside raking and waved politely to him. He continued onward and went inside town hall.
He emerged a few minutes later with an ID card in his hand and made his way towards the slums to greet the new Goomba. :)
20fan grabbed a garbage bag so he could put the leaves there, he began to rake - 10 minutes past and the pile had grew larger after 20 more minutes he finished raking.
He put the leaves garbage bag and put the bag in a garbage can then he went inside for his reward.
Nik looked around his new home. It was slightly run-down, but he preferred the simple, quaint things.

On the first counter on the inside of town hall was a small burlap bag with a tie around it. It rested on a piece of paper that read:

Remy looked out the window at the beautiful view. He shot a few pictures with his camera, being a photographer on the side, and realized he didn't have much money. He tightened his scarf and adjusted his sunglasses before exiting towards the pharmacy. He quietly said to himself, "Hmmm, I hope no one notices that I've absolutely no training in the medical field...well, I'm amazing enough, I'll do just fine." He entered the pharmacy and stood behind the counter.

Remy turned to him, looked him up and down, pushed his sunglasses down so he could he see this new person better, and then clamly stated, "I'm sure you are." Remy then readjusted his sunglasses and turned to face the counter.
Bocko stumbled out of his home. "Well a nap always fixes my headaches right away." He said to himself, and began walking randomly around the town.
Nik solemnly put five coins in the cash register, and took a bottle of aspirin for himself. He could tell that working with this guy, he was going to need it.
Bocko wandered into the General store and saw Nik popping some aspirin. "And it's only Day 1...." He said, chuckling. ;)

Nik opened the door and stepped out, not having found any furniture. He strolled around, and noticed the mayor staring at a store. "Hmm, a furniture store. Convenient." He said, setting off towards the store.

Bocko walked over to the counter and made an attempt at activating the new register. "I'm a Goomba of the past, not these counter robots." :D
Nik bought a bed, chair, kitchen table, standing lamp, and rug, for 475 coins. He walked up next to Bocko and looked at the cash register. "I haven't seen one like that before. I have no idea how it works." He said.
Bocko slapped at the register, aggrivated. Suddenly, it made a loud spurring noise for 5 seconds and then went silent again. Wide eyed, Bocko stepped away from it. "Looks like I'll just hand-write the receipt...." He said softly, taking out a pad of paper and a pen.
"Thats... a bed... chair... kitchen table... standing lamp... and a rug." He wrote quickly and punched something into a calculator. "Alright. Looks like we're all set here. You can borrow any carts you need to bring these back to your house. We don't really have a truck to use right now." Bocko said, gesturing at a row of large carts.
"Umm... Right..." Nik said, thinking of how much work it would be. He loaded everything into two carts, and began to push the first one slowly towards the slums.
Bocko came up behind him pushing the second one as best he could. "I may be old, but I still got some fight left in me." ;)
"Thank you." Nik called behind him. He came into the slums, and stopped in front of his house. "Once again, thank you. It would've taken forever to push both alone..." He looked at the shack he called home. It would take some getting used to. "Would you do me a favor? If someone moves out of a house on Tree Avenue or Oak Lane, would you let me know? It's quite nice there, but all the houses were sold out. Thanks!" He took the furniture inside and stepped in.
Bocko nodded to Nik in the doorway. "I'm going to see if I can wrangle up a construction contract and have a few houses built on Oak Lane. When I do, you'll be the first one I contact." Bocko smiled and gave Nik a thumbs up with the statement. "For now, though, I should turn in for the night." He gave Nik a brisk nod and said, "You have a good night, now. Enjoy the furniture." He turned on his heel and began walking home.

Nik hopped out of his new bed, landing on the rug he had placed in. The house was liveable now that he had gotten some furniture. He flicked on the light, and walked over to the table. He sat on the chair, and realized what he had forgotten. "Refridgerator." He said, flicking himself on the forehead.
Tuppa climbed out of his beanbag chair and looked at his dull gray walls and barren home.
"Hmm.. I need to come up with a money making scam- I mean reputable money making venture." "Yeah, that's it. :P" Tuppa said as he walked to deposit some cash at the bank.
Bocko stepped out of his home stretching his arms. "Eh. Looks like it might rain..." He said, trailing off. He started walking towards the stores to see if any of the clerks were on duty.
Remy whispered, "Thank Goodness," as Nik walked out. He thought to himself, Should I leave? No one's here, I don't think I'm needed. Ugh, it would be my responsibility though if someone comes in and no one's here. Ugh. He sat in a chair behind the counter.
Tuppa walked into the desolate bank. "Hello!" he yelled. "Is anyone here?"

His head went back down and a few minutes later he stood, arms full of papers. "All of these new buildings popping up means more paperwork for me." "Yeah, I'll open up a checking account." "I just deposit cash and I use a card to buy things, right?" Tuppa asked.
Bocko nodded as he stored the completed slip and placed the 25 coins in the cash register underneath the counter. "Sorta. I give you this," He began, handing Tuppa a black leather booklet of checks. "You fill those out when you buy things, and then the money will be taken directly from your bank account. In this case, you can buy anything that costs up to 25 coins with a check. It's considerably easier than carrying around all of those coins, eh?" He said with a laugh.
After a long night of wandering around a desolate town, Bocko slowly treaded to his home and opened the door. He stepped inside and the light in the front room went off seconds after the door closed.
Garth slept peacefully. He woke groggily in thd middle of he night and played Galaxy. He mused that he would need to buy food in the morning. He looked out the window. No one was out, so he decided to take a lonely stroll through town.
Bocko stepped back out of the town hall. It was raining lightly and the skies were dark as if the current drizzle was an understatement of what mother nature could unleash under these conditions. Bocko put the folder he was holding over his head and walked miserably to the general store.
20fan headed to the general store, he had feeling that Bocko was there.
Bocko glanced up from turning the key in the lock to see 20fan approaching. "Howdy." He said sullenly, opening the door. "Come on in outta the rain." He held the door for 20fan.
"thanks" he said walking the building.
Bocko put down the folder and walked to the other side of the counter. "Is there anything you need specifically?" He asked, drying off his hands and arms with a towel and then offering it to 20fan to do the same.
Tuppa walked into the General Store. He glanced at the fishing rods.
"Hmm." he turned to Bocko. "Is the fishing good around here?" he asked.
Bocko looked up slowly. "Down by the beach it's pretty good. And it's raining right now so I think you'd be able to get something good." Bocko said, with a wink.
"no nothing really, anything need to be done in town?"
Garth went down to the beach in the rain. He sat in the sand, staring at the waves sadly.

Bocko smiled and waved as Tuppa left. Once he left, he decided he needed to order some new items and went to the computer in the back room to look up some new merchandise to sell.

Tuppa walked down to the shore, baited his hook, and cast his line. He waited for any kind of fish to come.
Bocko drifted off slowly in the store. With his head propped up with his elbows, his eyes became heavier and heavier until they finally closed and he had fallen asleep.
10 minutes later he groggily jerked awake and looked around defensively. He shrugged and got up from his chair. He went to the door and turned to 20fan. "It's not as rainy anymore. Let's go see if we can find something for you to do."
Tuppa's fishing pole line got tight.
"WHOA THIS FISH SEEMS BIG." he said reeling in his line.
The line came up and Tuppa saw his catch. It was a massive boot and the worm was still attached.
"I'll get a big one soon, I know it." he said as he pulled the boot onto the dock and recast his line.
Bocko walked behind Tuppa but decided it was best not to say anything, for it might ruin his concentration. He continued walking and leaned against a tree nearby to watch Tuppa struggle with the sea. :)
Boogie was bored so he left his post at the store, going to see what he could find around town.

Bocko spotted Boogie walking through the trees and he silently left his tree to talk to him. As he approached, he waved. "Hey there, Boogie." :)

Nik went over to the Pharmacy. He walked over behind the counter, waiting for a customer. He noticed that the other person wasn't there.
"Not too much." Bocko replied, sniffling slightly. "I think I'm coming down with something, though." He brushed his nose gently and then wondered if he should go to the pharmacy. At last he decided it would be the best idea.
Bocko walked into the general store and stepped up to Nik behind the counter. "What do you have in Cold/Flu medications?" He asked with a strong sniffle.
Tuppa was still at the docks, fishing away. He had only caught 1 fish worth keeping, a large Red Snapper.
"Wow, this thing is as wide as my head!" he exclaimed.
He then left the docks, feeling accomplished of his feats.

Bocko reached up and took a generic anti-flu/cold medications box and left 10 coins in the register to cover it. After taking 2 of the capsules, he walked slowly to the counter and waited for a customer. He saw Tuppa strolling past one of the windows with a large grin on his face.

Remy stood off, slightly confused and very annoyed how these idiots acted like he wasn't even there. He was just sitting in a freakin' chair. He opened the register to make sure the customer had payed the correct amount. After closing it, he watched as the customer exited and rolled his eyes at him. Remy went back to sitting in his chair.
OoC: None of this is meant to be taken in offense by anyone. Remy is just a hateful person. It's his personality, not actually you guys. :)

Bocko awoke in the grass behind town hall, covered in dew. "What the....?" He looked around nervously and didn't see anyone. He had the cold/flu medication box in his hand and found in large red print, "EXTRA-DROWSY FORUMLA" Bocko grumbled and threw the box to the ground and dragged himself to his feet. "Bah..." He groaned, walking to his house for a change of clothes.
By 1:00 PM, there was a long table set up in Bocko's home with food from one end to the other. He had mailed out invitations to everyone to attend his Thanksgiving feast.

20fan looked at the invitation then walked outside and headed towards Bocko's house.
Bocko walked out of his house eating a turkey sandwich, with tupperware containers under each arm. He had more than enough food left over so he figured he would share with the other goombas.
20fan noticed Bocko leaving his house.
Tuppa left his house and just started strolling around.

Tuppa was walking along, wondering when his paycheck would arrive. He saw a mysterious shed in the woods. His curiousity got the best of him and he peeked inside. There was a massive Christmas tree in it, the plastic kind. It seemed like it would go in a town square.
Tuppa said, "Wow, I wonder if Bocko needs help putting this thing up in the square."
A mysterious cloaked Goomba delivered envelopes to every mailbox in town, containing each Goomba's paycheck for the week.
Bocko smiled very wide. "I have.... PLANS.... for Christmas." He chuckled in a somewhat eerie manner.
Tuppa walked up to his mailbox and pocketed his 250 coins.
Bocko looked on as Tuppa pocketed his money. He approached him silently and popped up behind him, in an attempt to scare him. "HEY THERE TUPPA!" He screamed wildly.
20fan headed towards the shopping district.
Bocko was walking around the wide open space in the middle of the shopping center when he saw 20fan approaching. He quickly slipped the tape measure in his hand to the pocket of his jacket and nodded to 20fan. "Evening." He said quickly and suspiciously.

A letter arrived in Bocko's mail slot at the boarding house. Written was:

Bocko smiled at the conclusion of the letter. He dug out a pen and began writing his response.
"Dear Chaos,
Yeah, it's a wonderful town. I have some big holiday plans in the works, so It's gonna be getting very cheery around here. As for the job, that sounds great. All you would do is small jobs like shoveling snow and cleaning up any garbage lying around the town. Enclosed is your updated Goomba Town ID card with your new occupation and income printed on it. And I'm looking forward to seeing you in the shopping center buying some furniture or something for that room of yours.

The ID card was tucked behind the folded letter in the white envelope. After delivering the letter, Bocko made his way towards the shopping center to begin setting up a holiday display at the general store.

Bocko heard a lot of commotion outside and raised an eyebrow in concern. Walking into the ally, he saw 20fan grabbing onto chaos, though he did not know why. "20fan!" he shouted in surprise.

Bocko wandered around town slowly and quietly. As he walked, he placed candy canes on tree branches and smiled as he continued to the next tree. It was very quiet around him and most of the lights were off in the houses as he passed them.
Tuppa walked out of his house.
20fan walked to his house and saw the candy canes on the tree next to his house , he took one and smiled while he went inside.
Bocko strolled around the town some more. It was snow snowing very gently. He snagged a candy cane off of a tree and started to suck on it. Kicking some snow off the ground, he took a seat on the ground below the tree next to Town Hall.
20fan walked to town hall and sat down beside Bocko
Garth went out and sat on his porch, staring out at the snow. He noticed Bocko and 20fan sitting on the bench and the colorful candy canes. He gave a small grin as he took one and sucked on it.
"Yo garth are you coming to see the tree lighting ceramony today?"
"Probably. Nothing better to do."
"Me too." Tuppa said.
Bocko nodded happily. "It's gonna be huge." He pointed at each Goomba with the tip of his candy cane, which was now worn into a sharp point. "Christmas is my favorite season." He laughed, looking into the sky, in which thicker snowflakes were now falling from.
*Chaos walks out of house with shovel and starts to shovel teh side walk, then he spots someone littering and picks up teh garbage* Im going to teh tree today also.
Bocko stood and walked over to Chaos. He plucked a candy cane off of a tree as he made his way over to him and offered it to him. "Cane of candy?" He asked with a short chuckle.

"Well I have to go set up the tree lights" he said getting up.
"there" he said backing up from the tree it took him all day but he had set it up. he ran to go get Bocko and the others
Bocko walked out of Town Hall and put a few envelopes in different mailboxes. He made his way back towards the tree at Town Hall Square. He saw 20fan leaping around excitedly and smiled. "That's the spirit." He said with a happy sigh.

"That way, more people will be there too." He said with a smile. "You did a good job though." Bocko said, grasping a cupped hand on 20fan's neck. "I think a 70 coin bonus this week is a good reward." :)
"Thanks Mayor Bocko, This will give me time to decorate the tree more" He said going back to his home to pick up his ornaments from Christmas' past.
20fan arrived at the tree with a box of ornaments.
Tuppa walked up and said to 20fan, "Need any help?"
"sure just hang ornaments on the tree until the box is empty" he said " I'll go pick up the candy canes from Bocko's house"
*chaos takes teh star out of box* then says"will someone help me put the star on top?"
20fan walked back with a box of candy canes "I'll put the star on after these candy canes are on the tree"
Tuppa continued to hang ornaments, looking at the beautiful tree.
