It is a great game and once you beat it,buy MP2.

After that,play MP3.It really is amazing.

I played MP1 for the first time a couple months ago. It was awesome. The third one is better though.

Rent it if you like. Then if you like it, you can get it, and if you don't like it, then you don't have to buy it.

But, I wonder, do they have past-gen games for rent anymore? Because I don't remember seeing any GCN, PS2, or Xbox games there.

Rent MP. IMO, it was the best of the three. To me, it captured the metroid feeling of exploring more than MP2 and 3 did. But if your new to Metroid and aren't used to not having the story shoved down your throat, then i suggest playing MP2 first.

I haven't played the first or second Metroid Prime games either. I suggest if you don't have a Wii (which is what MP3 is on), then get the original Metroid or Metroid Prime Hunters. Don't worry, Metroid was my 1st Metroid game ever and MPH was my 1st Metroid Prime game. Well if you have trouble finding the original Metroid (which was originally on NES) then try finding it on GBA.

Metroid Prime is the best of the series.  It's much more exploration based than the other two games.

Prime 2 is more of a mix of both, with a fetch quest that is much, Much more tedious than the original.

MP3 is very action oriented in comparison.


I guess it's a matter of personal preference, but I loved the first one, just because of how open-ended it is (providing you know techniques, you can go almost anywhere whenever you want).


If you're getting Prime 1, DO NOT get the player's choice version.  get a used copy of the NTSC version instead.  DO NOT GET THE PLAYER'S CHOICE VERSION.

Dude go buy metroid prime 1 it is a whole new lvl of gameplay it will change your life, then after you beat 1 either do 2 (if you have a lot of patience) then buy a wii and get MP3
