What do you usually name your rivals?
Mine are usually friends from school. Trying to think of something more creative though for HG...
I pick from the given rival names. This time around, I went with the original name given to him in the dialogue box in Gold/Silver/Crystal: ???

R/S/E: Still can't remember.
D/P/P: Lyne. I was going to name him dweeb, but decided against it.
HG/SS: Rival. Because nothing says rival like a person named RIVAL.

EDIT: You can see that the older I got, the less I liked each rival.
A long time ago, I named my rival "Leic".
Now, I named him "Silver" as the manga name.
I've always used the name Kaz. Not sure why.

I usually name them the opposite color. If I was playing Gold, they were Silver. yada yada
I think usually just Gary or something, but I think for Ruby or Platinum I named him EJRaven. :B
Usually a friend of mine, or "Gary".
Today, I named my HG Rival "Kayla", since my friend Kayla got SS and named her rival Rob.

R/S/E: Used one of the defaults, May.
D/P/Pt: Used one of the defaults, Joey.
HG/SS: I'll probably use ??? again.

Crystal: (in my recent playthrough) EMERIL :B
Sapphire: you cant nam her. She got stuck with May. :P
Emerald: same as above
Diamond: Nat
Platinum: Danny

Usually, I'll name the rival after my best friend. And visa versa.
I named my rival Sukhoi, seeing that he was Mikoyan's main competitor in the Soviet 1950s aircraft business.
I think I need more innovative names ;_;
Dumbass, Shitface, Idiot, Fucktard... basically anything stupid and swearheavy to make a Nintendo game say stupid poop like that. No matter how old I get, it's always amusing to hear Prof. Oak go "That dumbass, where'd he go now?" and the like. Immature I know but because Nintendo is so PG I take any chance I get to make fun of this sort of thing.
I usually go with Silver or something, but I decided to name him Flamer this time, because... Well, look at him.
In my first playthrough of Gold when I was about 7, I actually thought his name was ??? so I put that when they asked me for it.
