I figured if the sub was crap, the dub would be worse.

I don't see how any dub could be better than a sub, because the sub is how the show was intended to be percieved.  It's kinda like reading a book based on a movie that was based on a book series.  It's the same media but it's edited and it loses some of its Japanese magic in the process.  My opinion is, for better or worse, subs should be watched before any dubs so that a person can see how it was intended to be seen originally.  In fact, I'd love to replace all dubs in America with subs :)

I heard the Anime's not very good. I have volume 1 on my list at Blockbuster Online so I can try it out, but they haven't said that they're going to ship it out yet.
