I think the peanuts explode on contact, like a bomb-omb perhaps? Then the barrels explode, which I'm guessing is closer to electrode's explosion.

It is, but more uber. The peanuts go BOOM when they hit. You also have more control over his flight path and then the barrels also go BOOM once it's time up.
