Did anyone actually buy this yet? Honestly based on what I'm seeing, it looks/sounds like poop. I'll wait for Yarn Yoshi or when this is like $5.
Not a fan of the Yoshi games in general, though Yoshi's Story has a place in my heart for being so disgustingly saccharine.
I'm crazy hype for Tropical Freeze, though. I just can't seem to get myself to go out and buy it.
Never have been huge on DK games, considering I suck massively at them. I really wish minecart levels would go away.
But this Yoshi game? Uses a lot of assets from NSMB2, takes things directly from the SNES game, music is terrible. Honestly surprised Nintendo would put it out.

Minecart levels are the best part.

I'll probably end up getting it eventually because it does look fun, regardless of minecart levels.

Maybe don't let a company whose most well-known game is Wii Play Motion handle one of your most beloved games.

I absolutely adore Tropical Freeze. It's great.
Guess I should give it a try.
But yeah, Yoshi's New Island sucking is really sad.
Does Tropical Freeze have an involving story?

Does Tropical Freeze have an involving story?
The kongs are kicked off their island by vikings, who, in keeping with the sentient animal theme, consist entirely of arctic/antarctic animals. Commence island-hopping road trip to take back the homestead. Starring Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, and Cranky.
Tagline: "
It's not just about bananas anymore."
But why are they doing that? What happened to the land they came from? And what tactic do they use for a full island takeover? Do they do it out of malice or do they believe might makes right?

they're mad because the kongs got bigger dicks
There's that word again. What does it mean? |:
Since this is a Tropical Freeze thread, I'll say here that I got Tropical Freeze yesterday.
It's tons o fun. Retro continues to amaze with level design, it's a beautiful game that runs at a buttery 60 fps, and Cranky and Dixie are both fun to play with.
That's cool to hear.
Did anyone actually buy Yoshi's New Island? The music sounds terrible, my god.
