I usually enjoy paying less for games, but does anyone else think having a bunch of these re-releases among the original copies doesn't look as good on the shelf? At least with Nintendo, it was only a yellow bar at the top that fit, but remember the PS1 Greatest Hits boxes?

Might just be a little nitpick, but with the PS1 I always try to get the original release because rerelease boxes stick out so much. Plus with FF8 and FF9, the originals say Squaresoft and the reprints say Square-Enix. PS2 and PS3 games are better, at least Sony learned.
My Greatest Hits FFVIII still has Squaresoft on it. :/

Hm, I've only ever seen Square-Enix.
I personally don't mind the re-releases like Players Choice and Greatest Hits. I'm not bothered by a yellow bar or a green label.
...my brother, on the other hand.
I don't mind them, except when it messes with the original boxart, like the GC players choice, & the old godawful Platinum Hits for OG Xbox & 360.

wut... I can see it fine ._. just the old Platinum Hits for OG Xbox & the recent "Greatness is earned" redo for the 360 line, respectively.
I actually like the way the GC Players Choice looks. The only time I don't really like this stuff is when they shrink the box art and put some annoying massive border around it.
This one has to be the worst.

It's a box inside ANOTHER box! :D
But seriously, that's the worst. :|

...goddangit, that's the one I own.
Has anyone besides me noticed that Nintendo has yet to have any kind of Player's Choice this gen? Nothing on Wii, nothing [Nintendo made] on DS... odd.
I would honestly not mind if Nintendo started doing this with Wii and DS games, because they're too expensive for me to buy new most of the time.

They don't really have a reason to. People are still buying their games at full price, so they keep them that way. No reason to cut profits unnecessarily.
But I want them to also, gorram Gamecube games are still 30-40 dollars some places. No reason for that at all imo
