Unsure over challenge objective

What does the 'Collect all character's trophies' mean?
Because I beat Classic with all characters, got both Sheik and Zelda trophies, ZSS and Samus, Ect, Ect.

You have to do it with Pokemon Trainer three times >_>.  Once for squirtle, once for ivysaur, and once for charizard.

I didn;t think I got the trophies for the individual pokemon XD.
