Before you lose your cool like all the illiterate morons on IGN's comment section, this is actually great news for Nintendo AND us. In a nutshell, Iwata (who is now the CEO of NOA) has announced that he wants this E3 to be about games for American gamers, not international nonsense or stockbroker pandering. So, Nintendo will be having several smaller shows throughout E3, with almost immediate visitor access to demos, as they show off this year's Wii U lineup. This means no big conference, leaving Microsoft and Sony to fight it out with their new consoles while Ubisoft probably gets another host to make an ass out of him/herself.
Frankly, though, I'm still disappointed, if only because we won't see any grand spectacle like certain other years, which would certainly be fitting since we know Smash will be shown this year. I at least hope Reggie is able to "perform" at the smaller shows.
this probably pisses off the shareholders more than anything, as these conferences typically give them a great way to evaluate their own situations.

So it's split in half? A software presentation and a business presentation?

I was actually thinking this same thing.
I'm pretty indifferent. I usually miss Nintendo's E3 conference anyway, and personally I don't feel like we've really lost much since we still have Nintendo Direct.
