That Banana Alien is Xananab, a main character in the new game DK Jungle Climber.
The weird creature that looks like a cross between a ladybug and a slug is a Red Bulborb, an extremely common enemy in the Pikmin series of games.
Xananab could come flying by in his Banana Spaceship and bomb people, and the Red Bulbord could run around... chewing on peolpe... :O
