There's no such thing as homeroom in our high school either.  It's absolutely superfluous.

Your school actually cuts off those classes, and them the rest you do nothing?  That's stupid!

Where I go to school, if you it's dangerous to go for at least half the day, no school, and on delayed days, the adjust all the classes so they all have as even of a time as possible, so no class is behind.
