NFL is already fairly violent (just ask Willis on the Ravens) and I think that if the league gets branded for being pansy-ish because they try and protect their players than some sports announcers need a physch evaluation.

huh?  fighting in the NHL is actually very safe.  it's better than not letting them get it out and having them trip each other headfirst into boards or have crosschecks to the back, or slashes.
