What would 1/infinity be?

Would it be 0, because 0 goes into 1 an infinite amount of times?

And if that's true, what would 0 X Infinity be? Wouldn't it be every number on the number line? (Because 0 goes into 2 infinite amount of times, 0 goes into 3 infinite amount of time, 0 goes into 4 infinite amount of times, etc.)

It's just been bothering me. :-\

1 divided my infinity is infinity

1/Ifinity=Infinity

No, because 1/2=.5, not 2.

2/1=2
1/2=.5

So 1/Infinity shouldn't equal infinity.

I know that much.

i dont think you understand that infinity multiplied or divided by zero equals zero

My mistake, anyway, since Infinity is an undefinded term I don't believe there is a certain number to put in palce of it, making the problem impossible.

Well, it would be like that if it were a normal number, but this is infinity!

How many Zeroes do you need to make 1? Infinity! How many do you need to make 2? Infinity! How many do you need to make 0? Pretty much any number, including INFINITY! ^_^

There's my reasoning behind that. ^_^; If you find a flaw let me know! :)

Possibly.

so in other words
1/infinity=any other number besides the original number you used for infinity(unless its zero) ????

yeah, that doesn't make sence either.

It has to be either 0 or ((1/10)^(n-1)) N=Infinity <---------(Smallest possible positive decimal) That's the only two possible answers, right? :-\
