For really no reason at all, iTunes seems to have cleared about half of my music, forcing me to rerip them from my CDs. Nothing in my Recycle Bin, and some of the CDs I don't even have anymore.

Hooray.

Hey, it's iTunes.

Zune software did that once though, I opened it after like a month of not using it and it just went all ERROR on me and deleted all music that I didn't have saved on files on my computer

After my iPod freezing a few times and the problems iTunes caused me/taking up valuable space on my Laptop (I used both media players at the time, the other being Window Media Player), I got a Zen once more.

Well, iTunes can't randomly say "LOL IMMA DELETE UR MOOZIKZ" and there goes your music. Once again "Anything that happens on a computer is your fault. A computer can't function without a user."

Try Foobar, Zoomplayer or VLC. They generally play everything. iTunes is only good for taking anything you might possibly get in .m4a and burning it to a CD and re-ripping as .mp3.

It treats me well. Never had any problems.

TheDarkChief does have a point.

I also have Vista. Haven't had much problems as people complain.

itunes sucks, it's almost like Apple tries to make the windows version annoying. It's such a resource hog.
