Title: Is a DSi worth it without games?
Post by: Eizweir on June 30, 2009, 12:42:57 PM
I haven't touched my old DS in a really long time because I'm bored of all the games I have.  However, I'm considering getting a DSi for my birthday but if I do, I wouldn't be able to afford any new games with it.  So I'm asking, is a DSi worth having, even without games?  Games doesn't include the downloadable stuff, though I'm not sure how much of that I'll be able to get either.

If you're bored with what you have DS wise, then the DSi would be a foolish purchase. There are no exclusives yet, sans the dlc, so yeah.

Consider buying a few of the new games that interest you for your DS. The DSi really isn't a great standalone product.

All right then.  I just think it's time to upgrade from Phat, lol

I need some new games anyways, I haven't had a new DS game in a while.

Retro Game Challenge is a must. Buy it and I'll love you.
Pok?mon Platinum is a worthy upgrade to D/P
Starfy is easy but fun.

so on and so forth

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker. Similar to Pokemon, but with a heightened emphasis on breeding and powerleveling.

Hotel Dusk if you like visual novel-y stuff.

And no, a DSi isn't worth it, at least at this moment. Camera is too low-resolution, and there isn't any DLC that's good enough on its own to give it anything that's unique. About the one positive thing is that the new matte colorings don't attract fingerprints as easily as a Lite.
