Title: Looking for a laptop....
Post by: jnfs2014 on April 29, 2012, 05:20:22 PM
A decent gaming one. Not many specifics, only that screen resolution has to be at least 900p and run Intel i5 (or whatever that is equal to that in AMD).

Price range is 700 to 850, though I can splurge a little if it is a realy good deal.

Also, no Acers.

Asus G-series laptops are around 1000+ and are bulky as hell but they more than get the job done.

As for "decent" gaming laptops, you could always get this:

A friend of mine owns one of these, and plays Starcraft II/League of Legends on it frequently. These laptops handle games pretty well, but not as well as their G-series cousins.

Offhand, I could probably almost kind of recommend the cheapest Alienware laptop, which is about $800 before customization, I believe. I really wish I could find this one Yahoo! article that had some seemingly decent picks on good deals for gaming laptops, but oh well. At least you know it's out there.

I really wouldn't recommend Alienware if you can avoid it
