I jus started playing pearl for the first time in a while and I finally unlocked pal park. Do I actually need to migrate pokemon from a GPA game to enter the catching contests there?
yes and you can only migrate 6 Pokémon from a game pak a day

Set the DS clock forward one day?
Time travel actually makes the GBA game re-sync with the DS, causeing you to wait ANOTHER 24-hours.
