Apparently it wasn't up to par, so Capcom is pulling the plug on Legends 3 for the 3DS. Kinda sad, but not really since I wasn't a fan of Legends to begin with. But between that and Universe being cancelled, the loss of Inafune looks to be bigger than expected. I have to wonder what Capcom plans to do with Megaman in general since everything seems to be falling apart around him lately.
Inafune leaving wasn't exactly the reason ML3 was cancelled.
And to show my sadness to losing such a good sequel...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
It may not have been the primary reason to it being cancelled, but not doubt it certainly had some effect.
What's happening to Megaman ;_;
Capcom is pretty much a joke now. It's good that Inafune got out when he did.
Let's see...
-Cancel Megaman Universe
-Don't put Megaman in Marvel vs Capcom 3
-Pull the plug on Megaman Legends 3
I'm pretty sure they just hate their fans now. Honestly, they were letting fans design characters for them AND those same fans were going to PAY for a DEMO, and they still couldn't get this game going? It's like, the single most anticipated Megaman game in years! I don't understand the reasoning behind this...
They seem to not want to release a Mega Man game for some reason. I wonder what they are going to do next...

Didn't meet their criteria as they said, apparently.
Poor Mega Man... his legacy is coming to an end ;~;
Not "up to par?" lol. It's because the 3DS flopped. Don't worry guys, it might get moved to Vita.
Do they expect 20 million people to have a 3DS after being out for four months? People will only buy it if you make games for it, but most developers don't want to develop something they aren't sure will be a hit. It's a sad cycle of development.
Still, the 3DS is going to have to keep up. Being the same price as a Vita is pretty bad for it. Vita can compete since it's not a ridiculous price compared to the Nintendo handheld like the PSP was.

Price isn't the issue; the fact that it's the worse piece of gaming hardware since the N-Gage is. It was screwed out of the gate. I really hope that Nintendo learns from its mistake and replaces it before Vita has PS2-level control of the market.
The 3DS has nothing without games. No one will make games for a system with nothing.
The cycle never ends.
Yeah
It's a sad day when you compare your former favorite developer to Activision.

About the only thing the handheld is missing is a solid library. Two of its biggest selling games are updates of old games(Tales/Zelda), granted, however it has a solid upcoming games line-up. Shit sucks, but it is what it is. Even then, it doesn't make it as terrible as the intercourse ing N-Gage.

also this is a sadness
capcom has been making me sad a lot lately :(
No console was as royally screwed as the N-Gage. I would know, I own one. Yes, the taco one.
I also own a Tapwave Zodiac. But that's beside the point. At least the 3DS has more than ten games.
I highly doubt the 3DS is to blame for anything. It's just perfect for any games. The problem is that developers have a very rough time trying to come up with good ideas. I mean, there was supposed to be an Assassin Creed's game on the 3DS but it was cancelled.
I wonder if Capcom knows how upset its millions of fans are over this.

Millions? MegaMan does not have millions of fans. Maybe a few thousand at best.
They really shouldn't have hyped MML3 like this. They created a community, and gathered ideas before the game was even green-lit. Now, they're just tossing them in the garbage. I think that's what hurts (daw) about this whole thing: they basically got fans hyped up and excited about a game that they probably didn't have much faith in creating.
Kinda strange that they won't at least release that prologue. I know I hated the idea and ninnyed about it, but
come on Capcom.
edit: okay I guess at this point releasing the prologue/demo/whatever would be a dick move so uh yeah
So yeah, MegaMan is pretty obviously dead/near death. I guess there's always the Korea-only MMO!

Alright, the games have sold pretty well in the past. The list I was remembering only had Japanese sales, so I guess I'm having crow for dinner tonight.
I still say 'millions of fans' is hyperbole though. Then again, the last retail game with 'brand new content' I can remember was part of a series a large chunk of the fanbase hates, so...yeah I could easily be wrong again.

In addition to how the 3D gimmick can make developers think they HAVE to include 3D effects in a game for it. And 3D can get cheesy real fast.

If devs are smart, they'll take a page from OoT 3D and use it to enhance visuals. They shouldn't copy Super Mario and try to make it a key part of gameplay, though. Most devs would not get that right at all.
That said, 3D is not really a limiting factor, since devs don't even have to use it. The lack of a second analog stick, the archaic online, the last-gen graphics, and the tiny, low-res screens are much bigger issues.

I know, but the thing is that it does have huge limitations that make it a pain for certain genres. It's obviously an improvement over DS and PSP, but like the DS, it only excels in certain genres. Have you ever tried playing an FPS on DS?

It WOULD HAVE been, had it been made better. It was put together all sloppy, and it didn't work.
What is everyone's problem with the 3DS all of a sudden? What exactly is so GAME-BREAKINGLY HORRIBLE about the hardware? It has PS2-level graphics, everything the DS had plus the circle slider (which, if you've played Ocarina of Time, you know works fine); what about the console itself makes developers and apparently certain gamers run away?

They could have done a lot better. They skimped on the quality in several places and didn't pour tons of effort into it.

Where the hell did you pull that from, your ass? Quit assuming I'm a poor little guido who can't afford poop. I have plenty of money to purchase one. I just don't WANT to. It's overpriced and terrible, and I'm not going to spend close to $300 on it. Wait for a price drop.

It's the DSi with 3D, PS2 level graphics, a circle slider, a single console code instead of every individual game needing a friend code, a better stylus, and a menu/shop system that makes it feel less like a glorified Game Boy and more like a small modern console.
I see no reason to despise it so much.
It was probably because of Inafune leaving. He was the only one pushing for a MML3, so when he left there was no internal support for it to actually be finished.
Or it could be because they can't milk it with poopty DLC with ports and editions up the ass.
3D: Myeh. Better stylus? You can't base an argument off that. Especially because the DSi stylus is just fine and I see nothing wrong with it. And all that stuff doesn't make it worth $250. It's a gameless handheld. I'd price it at $200 at best.

People think the game has still hope to be in development since the unreleased demo and all the stuff they finished is still existing.
The cancellation was four days ago, but there might be a chance to overturn their decision and show them that the fans

(http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2010/07/nintendo-3ds-first-look/nintendo-3ds-image.jpg) What really irks me is the fact that the top half appears bigger than the bottom when closed and the headphone jack is in dead center of the system. I also like how you don't have to be on the main menu to adjust the brightness on the DSi. Plus the screens are bigger, and the system is the same size (always a good adjustment).
And yeah, the buttons are a little weird once you get used to the DSi.
The headphone jack being in the center of the unit is NOT a bad thing. lol have you ever owned a psp? The headphone jack is placed on the bottom left to where those with large hands end up whining about the placement. Shit gets in the way. The charger jack is on the very bottom right, to where even those with small hands have trouble playing comfortably while charging.
The 3DS avoids both of these problems. At this point you're just looking for things to ninny about regarding the 3DS. Why would the headphone jack being in the center irritate you? This makes no sense.
As for the top screen being larger, how intercourse ing often do you sit there and look at your DSi/Lite from the side? Yes they look symmetrical and your brain automatically accepts symmetrical things, but the 3DS is still very aesthetically pleasing despite not being perfectly symmetrical from the side. The top screen being larger also doesn't interfere with getting the unit into my pocket. From the top, the unit looks akin to a DSi/Lite, albeit larger. Shape is quite similar.
Protip: Start complaining about the actual problems the unit has

CAPCOM HAS LOST A BRAVE SOUL
Apparently there's some rumor that the dev room stuff was to check out potential buyers, and if they can get enough people to support the game it'll be flagged as profitable or something.
Which would actually make the silly Facebook thing useful.

I think the charger port in front is a stupid idea. Nobody ever faces the charger when playing. It just gets the cord in the way.
What the intercourse are you talking about? The charger port isn't on the front of the 3DS.
None of you know what you're talking about regarding this darn handheld.
