it was pikachu.  i liked that it said pika instead of the annoying pikachu cry :P

mine was squirtle (my first and only game is and was fire red)
Many fans clamored for Wario to join the fray, and so now he finally makes his appearance...

The very first pokemon I ever had was bulbasaur. Those were good memories. :D
