My parents are pestering me, and I can't think of any movies that would have come out on DVD within the past year that are half good.

The only one I have is Iron Man, so, avoid that.

Basically, what would you recommend I ask for?

I heard WALL-E was good. Go for some old movies. Monty Python, perhaps?

I've got Monty Python, well, at least some old video or two of it. I should dig those up.

ask for the MST3K: 20th Anniversary DVD set, contains movies Werewolf, Future War, First Spaceship on Venus, and Laserblast.

Money is always a good option.

IF you really need a movie...get some concert dvd of a band you like.
