For me it was that one at the police academy or something with all the growlithe, "The Case of the K-9 Capers!"

hmm.. wow, usually i remember the first episode of a show I saw...

I'm thinking it was the one in season 1 with the Gloom (when team rocket tries to steal a perfume...thing, but ends up stealing some of gloom's smelly stuff instead) i dont remember much of it. Its the first one i remember seeing

It could have been I Choose You, since i probably did see that, i just dont remember seeing it first. I have seen it a few times though, so it's confusing.

Strangely, I don't think I ever saw the very first episode, until I recently torrented and watched the entire first season. Cartoon Network and Kids WB and whatever I was watching like never showed it, despite having me rewatch a few episodes countless times. :(

I have terrible memory, but I believe the first I saw may have been Mystery at the Lighthouse.

I think my first episode was the Paris episode or the Eggecute episode in the first season. If not, those are the first I remember. I had VHS tapes with those episodes, and others. I don't remember what the volumes were called though...

I do believe that it was the first episode of the series. It was quite funny at the time and I was very excited while watching it, as I've always loved Pokémon.

The fourth ever episode where Ash fights the samurai dude in the Viridian Forest but they both have Metapods.

I lol'd because they just kept using harden.

This was back in the days where we had to consult the TV guide book to see what was on, also. Being such an obsessive in 1st grade, I was mad that I missed the first 3.

This. It was also my first experience with Pokemon. Like I hadn't heard anyone talking about it at school or anything.

Um, I believe, it was actually the very first episode where ash gets his Pikachu. Well, either that one or when Ash runs into the trainer that abuses his Pokemon by using shock collars as a training method and had Sandshrew.
