Halo or not, Bungie will survive while M$ milks the Halo cow into oblivion.
Yay </false care>
Bungie wanted to leave. They weren't shoved to the curb.

Any fan or fan-base that is "torn apart" by rumors (or even the truth) wasn't that strong to begin with.
Bungie being acquired by MS in 2000 mad off nearly their entire fan base. Not just fans of a single game or a series of games, but them AND the fans of them as a company. Well, I say "mad off", when in fact the difference between "mad" - "confused" and - "surprised" were a matter of maturity and understanding of how businesses work. The more informed and mature a fan was, the more likely they were to be at the "surprised" end of the spectrum.
So now, history is repeating itself.... at least as far as the condition of the fan base is concerned. It is a rumor, and until it is confirmed or denied, accepted or busted.... fans will do what they have always done over any information.
Float and sputter.
Microsoft is basically like "GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE I WANT MORE I WANT WAR"
...I shouldn't listen to A Perfect Circle and post at the same time. >.>
But Microsoft is essentially saying "SCREW YOU BUNGIE WE LUV HALO"
