Yeah, that's an odd title.
CoroCoro is definitely announcing a new game next month, but The Pokemon Company might announce the game in a few days at Jump Festa. Either way, something new is coming.
Looking forward to this new game.
Here comes, another Mystery Dungeon game.
Agreed
If Mystery Dungeon 3D is 3D in the sense that it is polygons instead of sprites, it may be the first one I buy since... the first one.

A strategy RPG I've never heard of. It's an odd crossover.
It's apparently a huge, long-running series in Japan. It's had a few American releases, but I didn't like them. It probably won't even come out here anyway.
Good news. It seems we're getting sweet-looking Pokemon artwork anyway.
I'd much rather have this than some poopty 3D Mystery Dungeon.

[spoiler]During a Q&A session during a visit to Tokyo on Saturday, Junichi Masuda was asked about when the next main series game, a game after Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition, is to come out. In response, he said that he can't really respond to that question but said to watch an upcoming Pokémon Smash episode, due to air this weekend. This was followed by a post on twitter stating the same thing. Despite this, however, the summary and trailer of that episode of Pokémon Smash makes no mention of any sort of announcement. We'll bring news on these developments as and when they happen so be sure to keep checking back

I figure Pokemon "Grey" will be announced around E3 time (pokemon tends to get SOME announcement slightly before). The Keldeo event is expected to be officially announced soon, since it and the three "musketeers" are in the next movie along with Kyurem. Since Kyurem is the third legendary of Reshiram/Zekrom, I figure they'll announce it shortly before the movie hits Japan to get interest in it.

Main-series Pokemon games have never been announced at or around E3. Not even once. They announced Black and White outside of Japan around E3 last year, but that's it.

Doesn't mean they ever will. And I don't mean at E3, I meant around E3 or so. Some time will have passed from Nobunaga, the movie and event in Japan will be going soon, what better way to pump them up by announcing the new game?
Which will come first: R/S remakes, or Gray?

I HIGHLY doubt it. There's just no reason to, especially since Nintendo will likely want the 3DS focus at E3 to be on the new 2D Mario (and probably Zelda 3DS). Pokemon has never been an E3 thing. Besides that, we're talking about a Japanese announcement here. Also, announcing a new main Pokemon only three months before release would be very unusual.

I never said release for the movie, I said announce. Assuming Kyurem is indeed the box legendary (which all signs seem to point to), it'd make sense to at least announce it close to the movie that pokemon is going to be in. And I said around E3, because, well, announcements. They usually don't announce full fledged games around E3, but they tend to at least use the magazine/channel to announce something pokemon related around that time.

Usually, the game would be announced ahead of the movie's release. Pokemon is HUGE in Japan. They're not going to only allow themselves three months to hype the next main game. It'll be announced by the end of March, or it won't be announced this year at all.
I know how huge it is in Japan.
And eh, we'll see. I still think it'll be announced this year even if it's not announced by the end of March per say.

The "2" is obviously there for a reason. Can you honestly tell me that you finished BW and didn't immediately think, "this is probably going to get a sequel"?
Besides that, there is something else that suggests it: the cover legendaries were switched. (Black Kyurem in the Black 2 mascot while White Kyurem is the White 2 mascot.) I highly doubt that was done for no reason considering the theme of Black and White.
We know two things about the games (the titles and the mascots) and both scream "THESE ARE DIRECT SEQUELS!" Black and White clearly set themselves up for a sequel. I have no doubt at all that they're sequels.

Yeah, and Unova is also the smallest and most linear region we've ever had. Discounting the post-natdex area, you're moving forward from one route to the next constantly instead of doubling back like you've always done.
I don't think B2/W2 will add much new ground; we might get some new buildings/caves/etc, but I don't think they'll add a bunch more routes. Though it would be cool if they did, and I actually want them to. Not very hopeful though.

But the real point is that the way the pokemon series operates it is just as likely, if not more likely, that this is just gray version split into two parts.

How can you be so sure? This is the first time we've had an "Existing Version
2" in the canon series.
because as you said this is the first time we've had a number two (so we have no idea what that means), but its far from the first time we've had another game in the same setting as the previous pair (so we have a pretty darn good idea what that means).
im not sure i'm only being logical about this

I think the general rule is if you add a 2 to the end of a game's title you assume it's a direct sequel.
and there's that other general rule where all pokemon games in the smae region follow the same story

With the way the series operates, we shouldn't be getting two versions and there shouldn't be a "2" there.

Buying more than one game per gen doesn't make you an idiot. I can see why you wouldn't want to buy both games in a pair, but what you're not getting is that the same generation doesn't mean the games are anything alike, and that's a silly way to separate them really.
But yeah, you're missing out on games like Crystal and FR/LG. If you're against third games like Emerald, that's fine, but the games really aren't that expensive. I like to buy one game for every release in the series, so I can experience everything. It's not like I have to really work to accumulate $35, and otherwise I'd sort of feel like I'm missing out.
No I'm not missing anything. Saying these games would be missing 90% of the reasons I play pokemon games is no exaggeration.
I put nearly 200 hours into white. I had cleared the elite 4 in under 20. the remainder of the time is spent catching new pokemon, training new pokemon, exploring the effects of new mechanics on old pokemon, etc.
The extra games and remakes give me the same 20 hour story I've already played, plus maybe 5 hours of new content but absolutely zero reason to put in the extra 200 hours again. If I really want to play the story again I can restart the game I already have. I do not spend $30+ for 5 hours of gameplay.
